Back to Back Empty Back to Back

Post by thriftycrafter Fri 3 Apr 2009 - 22:34

This is the low cost/no cost LO I did at the talk I gave on Wednesday. The backing is the card that comes as dividing sheeets in a 12x12 album, the paper is either junk mail or old envelopes, the ribbon was hanging loops on a top. I used household scissors, a glue stick and my one piece of specialist equipment was DST, as I guessed (correctly) that the ladies might not have that at home. I cut the flowers etc freehand and used a ruler to make templates for the diamonds on scrap paper. To me it's crying out for the edges of the diamonds to be inked but that would have defeated the object which was to show that you don't have to spend a lot to get started.
It's DS2 and DD BTW

It just shows that you can craft on a budget when needed. Well done because you have done a super job.
Glad to say I hope I am never in that position as I have so much stash to get through, but it's
heartening to see this.

Likewise, anyone who's seen my stash will laugh their socks off, but the idea is sound (trying to be convincing).

Perhaps we should have a challenge where you either have to make
a card or make a LO using only recycled bits and pieces.
That would be fun and very interesting so see what everyone came
up with.

Lovely photo, and very inventive way of using stuff that would be thrown out.
