It's like writing your own obituary when you're not dead yet! I'll try to make it interesting, but have a feeling that I may fail.
Born in a (then) village in Kent in the house my Mum still lives in. Have 2 younger brothers, both married, one of which lives in the village I live in now.
I joined the army at 17 and spent 7 mostly happy years as a switchboard operator, much of that time in Germany, where I met and married Mick, then an RAF dog handler. Silver wedding ann next year.
Jake was born not longer after Mick left the RAF and joined Suffolk Police, after several miscarriages Evan was born. Before we could decide whether or not to have another child, Chloe was on the way. Jake is now in the REME, Evan studying for GCSE's and Chloe is a year behind him. They are both Air Cadets.
I worked in all sorts of jobs while we moved around with the RAF, care of the elderly and the physically handicapped, occupational therapy in a mental hospital (they were called that then), shop work, cleaning, driving for Pontins and now I'm a TA in an RC primary school, although I'm a Methodist myself.

I craft most days for a short time if I can, after work and before/after meetings etc, it calms me and I prefer it to TV. I read, books and magazines, and play darts for the WI team in winter and go to belly dancing classes in the summer (they're on the same night). I'm presently the WI secretary at our local institute, but am coming off committee in November as I don't have enough time to myself.
My back started giving me problems a few years ago and I reluctanly joined a local gym, I go to Pilates classes and swim, I have had an intro to the gym but it (and the lycra clad skinnies) scare me.
I'm one of the worship leaders at our church which is very informal, we have quite a small congregation so the responsibilities seem to be increasing for all the active members. I get such a lot from the fellowship though and my faith has helped me through a lot of rough patches.
I got into forums (I belong to 3) through cardmaking initially which I have been doing for about 20 years, and I became adicted via scrapbooking. I go to as many crops as I can because there is no interruption there, and I love to see other peoples work.
I love taking part in swaps and cj's because it challenges me and gets me out of my comfort zone, I also love to get nice things in the post, so that's a bonus.

Not any more, we used to have a white German Shepherd, which was a reject from the training school, but when he went we decided that we wouldn't get another. We do dogsit for friends whenever we can which gives us the best of both worlds, no responsibility for kennelling or vet bills, but lovely company and a little exercise. My neice has a new puppy so we're all trying to get them to go away so that we can look after him.
