How do you usually start your LO's? With a pic I'm guessing.
You choose your pic, then your papers and go from there. Unless you're using a sketch and then that's your first port of call.

Well, you know I've been struggling lately so I started doing everything back to front to see where that got me.

I did start with a plan though. I draw sketches, but never actually use them, but this time...I had a plan. Mr Green

When I'd got my plan all sorted, I chose my papers and found 3 plus 2 card colours that all matched. Then, I got out my embellie box. For some reason, I never go through this box and yet there's loads in there. So, I chose some embellies that suited the papers and cards.

Then, I arranged the papers and card how I wanted them, layering and so forth and then I chose and cut my title.

Then...
I chose the pics. Now, as it happens I chose the pics that I've been struggling with for days, lol. When I first got them, I couldn't find papers to match and yet these were here all the time. Laughing The pics were then put on the LO and moved about slightly from the plan for the best fit.

So, doing it all back to front, I've nearly finished the LO. Mr Green
It's a bit more pale and girly than I originally wanted, but at least I've managed to do one. cheers

I'm going to try this way again too for my next LO. I've found it much less stressful. Very Happy

Sounds like that was a perfect idea, Lou. Not being a scrapper, I wouldn't know where to start anyway, but I often do things in a weird order myself, because of using recycled materials - you can't just go to your stash and find stuff that fits. If I'm doing an important or difficult card, I usually decide on my colourways and then get everything out - papers, card, embellishments, ribbons etc - in those colours and then see what actually looks right together. It does make for a lot of putting away unused stuff afterwards, but it's worth it.

Hopefully it will get your mojo kick started and you'll be back scrapping away again.

Delighted to know you are scrapping, whichever way you do it, and as a matter of interest, I nearly always choose papers, cardstock, embellies, flowers, etc. and THEN the photos because my pics are not all they should be so I make the highlight the papers!!!

I find it easier to do it that way round sometimes too.

Nice to see you have your mojo back Lou. I will try that and see if it works for me.
