Week three of my training and I'm now doing "run 3 minutes, walk 1 minute", repeated 6 times - and as before, I do this three times this week.
It was pouring with rain this morning, but I went out and ran anyway. I'm going to be doing most of training over the winter, so I'd better get used to running in horrible weather. I got absolutely drenched, but the thought of a nice warm shower afterwards kept me going! Mr Green

Well done you, I suppose that was quite good motivation. I think I'd feel happier running in the rain, les people about.
Are you keeping a diary?

No Karelyn - I'm not keeping a diary. Only what I'm writing in here!
Although I suppose i should really. If I manage to complete the Marathon, it would be interesting to look back on! Mr Green

Oh yes Bobs, you do need to keep at least a computerised journal of all of it - pics of before/after, pics of you running, pics of you crashing through the "finish" line (see - I KNOW you'll do it). Think how much your kids will love to read it all in times to come. Start it NOW!! (and you know Mummies know best!) xxx

Oh dear - my run was very hard this morning. Don't know why, but maybe because of the windy conditions? I really struggled with the 6 x 3-minute runs today and I'm beginning to seriously doubt if I'll manage to do the next stage, which begins on Sunday, of 4 x 5-minute runs. Keep at it Bobs, you are doing well. Shame you have to start the longer ones now that the weather will be getting worse though.

Take it one day at a time, and don't push yourself too hard, but keep at it, just think how far you've come already, get that diary going. Keep on with this stage, worry about the next one when it comes.
You're doing great New Life (hopefully)! - Page 5 Icon_cheers

Thanks girls!

Yes Scatty - Tim is losing weight too. Not as much as I have, but then he doesn't have nearly as much to lose in total as I have. Plus, his work schedule at Uni is SO busy at the moment, what with him lecturing, taking students on field trips, tutorials, etc etc - and trying to fit in own PhD studying, he isn't finding enough time to get to the gym.

Today was the beginning of week 5 of my training and I had to do 3 x 8-minute runs, with a 2-minute walk between each run.
By the time I got half-way through my last run, I was shattered, sweating and breathless ......... but I did it! New Life (hopefully)! - Page 5 482736
