No, water generally, although I did force myself to go to swimming lessons about 15 years ago and learned and can do a few lengths.

I love the water. I'm sure I must have been a fish in a past life. I like being in and under the water - pure heaven! The only thing I don't like, is being ON the water. I get seasick just looking at a boat! Lol

Keep hold of the idea of getting to the pool there really are lots of big people that go, once you're in the water no one knows what size you are anyway. I went this afternoon and did a few extra lengths, i felt good after, more aligned if that makes sense, and no aching.
The worse thing for me is the few yards from the changing room to the water, no matter what size I am, and I'm not happy with that, I have awful veins all over my legs, so I could be skinny as a rake (well that's not ever likely to happen) but I would still have the embarrassment. Once you're in the water it's ok though I promise.

I'm managing to keep going with the workouts at home, using my new step and handweights, but oh boy, it's bl**dy hard work. I hate the feeling of complete breathlessness. Pain and aching muscles I can bear (just), but the sweating, pufffing and panting is so horrible. Not to mention the nausea!!

Hey ho ...... no pain, no gain - as they say!

I've just finished another workout and I'm beetroot red, sweating like a pig and puffing like Ivor the Engine.

And I still feel sick.

On the plus side, I think my recovery time is decreasing, so that's definitely a good sign!

Good on you for keeping going, see it's working already, and I suppose if you feel sickk then you don't feel like eating so that's a good thing to. I bet you'll start feeling more toned pretty soon if not already.

Post by Guest on Fri 18 Sep 2009 - 14:00

I've lost another 5lb, so now I'm down to ......

16st 9lb!!

It's slow, but I don't care. It's strange that, on every other diet I've ever been on, it's been like a race to see how quickly I could lose the weight. With this low-carb thing though, I KNOW I'll be eating like this for the rest of my life (well, hopefully!), so there isn't the same urgency to 'finish' the diet and get back to 'normal' eating. The way I'm eating now IS normal - and I'm losing weight too.

Yes, I miss my tatties and my biscuits and chocolate and bread etc etc, but I just have to ask myself how much I WANT to be slimmer and fitter. Do I want the biccie more than I want to lose another pound?

I won't lie and say it's easy, but at the same time, it's not HARD. I miss the carbs, but I don't ever feel hungry or deprived.

Anyway ......... today was another workout day and I managed to get through it without feeling sick at all! Progress indeed! Only thing is, Martin is coming back to see me on Monday and there is no doubt he will be giving me a harder workout to do now. Truth to tell, I'm dreading it ........ but hey-de-ho!

Well done, Bobs! Wish I could give up carbs: if I don't get a regular "fix" during the day, I start to get the shakes, mouth goes dry, legs go weak. Used to be worse when I was younger.

Good luck with the new workout!

Lynda

Another 5lb, that'a brilliant, just look at it in sugar bags, another 5lb, how fast do you want to lose it.
I always feel a bit cheesed that it takes longer to take off than to put on, but that's a lot of weight to lose, be well pleased.

Well done to you Bobs, glad you didn't feel ill this time after the exercise, perhaps he would do better to keep you at this workout for another couple of weeks before uping it again, then perhaps you wont feel ill again. but whatever he does it is getting the result you are hoping for.

Very well done Bobs - so much better to ditch all those carbs anyway, especially as you get older because you really don't need them. Far better, too, to go slowly on the down with the weight because that way it will become a nice even decline in your size. Keep at it - and I bet you won't find the new workout as hard as you are thinking because you are feeling fitter anyway! Keep it up gel - I am so pleased for you. xxx

I think my sister is on a "fatten Patty up" campaign!!! Still, it's not for too long and I have some leeway anyway.
