I think everything is supposed to be in the bag to amke a card
so you will need some sort of image/topper.
And I think I read that there needs to be card, envelope and 5 items.

Post by WeirdCat Wed 14 Apr 2010 - 20:57

Oh didn't realise there needed to be an image, had better make sure it has a face on for certain fussy people!! Blow Kiss , add it to my ever growing not shrinking list although have the swaps and challenges sorted bar the image.

My question how many pages do I need for this book, have just folded what seemed like loads but now doesn't

I put an image in the kit. I worked on the idea that when buying kits it usually includes everything to make a finished card.

The 5 things is the stash baggie, and then the challenge of it is that we have to make a card or LO with every single item.

Pages for the book, I did A5 which folded gives A6 obv Mr Green multiples of 4, about 6 lots. I originally did too many but as I started to fold them and put them together the book got thicker and thicker. So thats 24 sheets of A5. However, my paper is quite thick as I didn't want to use printer paper. It will be the thickness of a book you might buy in asda. So it sort of depends how thick you want the book. Try folding the 4s and see what it starts to look like QUESTIONS - Page 13 Icon_biggrin

more than mine has, am sure it will be fine. Put it this way. Once you've done it once, if you want another go then you'll be able to make a thicker book at home.

I always look on these things like classes as a tutorial really, and that we can go away and practice and tweak etc., as we like.

Right, the card kit.
It doesn't have to have the 5 items, that's the stash baggie. Mr Green
The kit is supposed to be complete, so everything that is needed to make a card should be included. I have put an image in mine, but it is uncoloured so the recipient can do that herself. You don't have to use all of it and yes, you can add to it if you want to, but if the kit is complete, you shouldn't have to add anything. Mr Green
Mine is, blank card, envie, 3 papers, some coloured card stock, brads, blossoms, image and ribbon/lace.

The book can be as thick as you like. I have 8 signatures of 8 pages (4 A4 folded in half) so 64 pages of normal paper and it's quite thick enough.

Fold 32 sheets in half, Cath. Then put together in groups of 4. You will have 8 groups (called the signatures). Mr Green

Sorry - got my bits ready but still not sure about the little baggie.
Do we put a card/envie in or not, or, do we bring a blank to make a card
from the bits in the bag we select from the lucky dip. So I suppose what I
am asking is, who is supplying the card - the one who makes the baggie or
the one who picks it.

All you put in the baggie is the 5 items, Steph (3 brads or buttons count as 1 item). The person getting your baggie can then make a card or LO or something using all 5 things. Mr Green

So yes, I suppose you do need to bring something to use your baggie on. Very Happy Ha, I never thought about it like that.

If it smells anything like the carrot cake thats just come out of the oven, then there'll be nothing left to bring tomorrow Mr Green

I must admit I have quite a bit of spare card and stuff coming with me that means I can do the challenge of the baggie, probably a card from me.

Card kit is just putting some bits together Jo, from your nomal stuff. I haven't done anything special, only the bits I would use to make the card myself.

As for alcohol, I'm taking Gin if thats any use, you can drink some of mine Mr Green I wont be drinking too much anyway.
