I managed to find some small pieces (A5) of paper in Lily's colouring box though not a clue if they are right. I've got the smooth feel card though so am sure I will be ok.

No girls. Must be watercolour paper. You can use NOT, Kim but HP is better. I will be bringing my pad, so you can all have a bit of that. You'll only need a piece big enough to stamp an image on for the distress ink painting bit.

Karen, you bring whatever and however many stamps you want. You don't have to use the same ones for anything.

Luggage tag to be white, but cut your own from card by all means. Just hope that they take the ink. Mr Green If any of you want to buy any, the THE FRUIT PIXIE are really cheap, free postage and work perfectly. I buy all my stuff from her.

thanks lorraine. Have packed up a few stamps for using in classes, but as I am bringing some for other people to see I can always choose from there. Thanks again.

Have ordered some tags from Pixie, hopefully they will arrive in time. Plus a few other bits of course, would be rude not to buy some other stuff Mr Green

And thanks re paper too.

I got mine from my local art shop this time, Jane but if you need to order online, KEN BROMLEY is one of the cheapest I've found for HP 1/4 Imperial size. This link is for Fabriano though, which is one of the best. You may find cheaper if you google elsewhere.

i've ordered some anyway jane because I figure that once we've learnt the technique am likely to use it again anyway. I'm going up to the range tonight with lily to see if I can get some of the paper.

Oh, bummer. Yes, she's out of stock of the tags. It'll not be long before she has them back, I'm sure but I dunno about getting them in time for next weekend. Not to worry though, Jane. I'm sure there'll be plenty of tags about.

so lorraine, i noticed on the list in the distres inks section that we need the tags and the paper. can't we do the same thing with the paper as the tags? and do the tags have to be luggage tags? is the purpose of the tag mainly to show how to distress them? i am bringing my tag dies which i could cut from my watercolor paper or any white paper.

OK. You need both the tags and the watercolour paper for two different techniques, Jane. You may well be able to do each with either, but I'm going to show you the best way. The only reason I said tags is because they're small enough to work on and tags are so popular but you can do the same technique with plain card if you want to. They don't have to be luggage tags, so cut your own by all means. I know that these tags work well but can't speak for all the different kinds of card.

The HP watercolour paper is so that you can stamp an image on it. If you're not too fussy about getting a clean image then you can use any watercolour paper.

Oh bummer too, I didn't realise they were out of order, it didn't say that when I put my order in. Oh well, have a few different types of card will round some bits up Mr Green

I've been to two different places for the watercolour paper and neither of them sell smooth, only the NOT, I could try the dedicated place in town, but its getting into town and likely to be more expensive. ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES LIST.... - Page 3 Icon_cry So I'm definately going to have to beg a sheet, pretty please Mr Green

I keep adding bit to my trolley Mr Green went into our local Home Bargains today and they were selling a metal spectacles case. Figgured I might be able to alter it so now I have to pack alcohol inks LOL !!!

Jane I think we all likely to be sharing stuff. Lorraine's already said about it too. I've got some bits others might not have and would be willing to exchange. Thats the beauty of this place, we all such good friends that a bit of sharing is a good thing. Can imagine some places being quite stingy Mr Green

oh yeah, never noticed that. Whats the bet its a cut and paste from the others. The pad def says HP on it as does the title. One of the ebay ones had this mistake, but I didn't like the feedback either so decided against it. Plus buying from a store like this might be quicker Mr Green

The postage is a bit high but I figure that if hobbyc or range sell NOT for about £7- >> for NOT then total of £8.55 for this wasn't too bad. Plus the sheets are quite big and not likely to be used as a full sheet, as its going to be cut down.

I found some paper that is for acrylic painting amongst a drawer of other bits but not sure if it will do as don't know what you mean by HP and NOT.
Fred Aldous is in Manchester Karin, haven't been there for ages but was only talking about it the other day. A great place for rummaging last time I went there.

I did see it was in Manch and wondered if you or the others had been. it says they've been around for 125 years, amazing.

When I was looking in the other two shops, the feel of the acrylic paper was totally different to the NOT (rough) paper. So am presuming the HP (smooth) is too.

You really need watercolour paper. There isn't really a substitute for this, but there'll be plenty available. You'll only need enough to stamp an image on. Mr Green

Just to clear it up:
the papers come in rough, NOT and HP. It's the manufacturing process. Rough is as it says, rough. HP is hot pressed and is very smooth and NOT, which is between the two, is literally 'not' Hot pressed. Mr Green
