Card Recipients
Hi Everyone
Was just wondering who you tailor your cards to, for example I have just done two Fathers Day cards for 1st time Daddy's and I have done them really cutesy and quite pink as they are coming from a baby girls? What do you think, do your tailor to card to the recipient more or the sender?
Generally I do tailor to the recipient except when coming from little ones.
Thanks Em

Re: Card Recipients
I do tend to tailor them to the recipient, but I think you're right, cards from babies to their Daddies can be different!

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Re: Card Recipients
Interesting question, I suppose it has to be both really, with the recipient uppermost but in a style the sender likes.
I try to send what I think people like but I'm not always good at their favourite style.

Re: Card Recipients
Yer I agree I think, fopr Fathers day for the first time Dads I think they would prefer something cutesy from their little daughters, not a beer stamp or motorbike if you know what I mean

Re: Card Recipients
I think it has to be both but the recipient gets the lion's share IYSWIM.
I think if it is personalised in any way it has to be special, and I don't
necessarily mean names, but hobbies and interests are great too.

Re: Card Recipients
Do you know it never occured to me to make from the senders point. I have always done cards that are commissions in the style/colours/likes that the recipient would like.
If I were doing like the ones you first mentioned Emma, I would probably still do cute but with colours 'male appropriate'.

Re: Card Recipients
I just make a pile and send them out usually.
Sometimes they're recipient specific but not always.

If they are commissions that is different - you have to make what
the client wants. Actually Lorraine - you have a point - sometimes I
make a pile and choose one suitable for someone - not crafters, but friends, family and non crafters maybe.
