Some dies need that bit of help with wax paper, but I've found some alternatives as it can be pricey to buy.

A lot of mail-order receipts are printed with a self-stick address label as part of the receipt. This may, or may not, be removed to stick on the parcel, but behind it will be a sheet of thin, wax (or similar) coated paper.

If you use sheets of labels in your printer, the backing sheet has a waxy coating.

If you use A4 size self-seal envelopes, the strip you peel off has a waxy coating, suitable for narrow edger dies.

I used the paper that labels are stuck on to do inkjet transfer too Lynda. Works well, albeit the ink is very wet to start with.

Ooh - inkjet transfer of what? Is that the same technique as using acetate, for things like DIY rub-ons?

I've found greaseproof/baking parchment works quite well too. Pity they don't still do wax type paper in cereal packets anymore, although I did use some once from an Aldi cereal, can't remember what it was though.

Not really a rub on Lynda. The ink is still very wet when you print on the wax, but if you turn it over and carefully place on your project you can transfer onto a lot of things. I did a skull on canvas once and it was great.

Man on the market does greaseproof/baking parchment for a £1 a roll although I have a roll of wax paper on my desk so don't need to mither him yet.

Does baking parchment work as well as waxed paper, Ruth?
