HI everyone i have just joined this site i came across while looking on internet of how to make my own guilding wax (about 3 hours ago l o l ) so i thought i would just introduce myself, i dont have one perticulare craft i will have a go at most things, so you can imagine what my craft room looks like as i keep almost everything , if i say right i'm going to have a clear out ( meaning tidy up a little) I DO TRY but as i sort my pilles out , keep. go . thinkabout it does not work i start with a bin bag in my hand and usually end up with not even a food bag size to bin, i do need help, BUT even my grand children 6 years and 12 years old no ,if someone needs something , JUST ASK GRANDMA SHE WILL HAVE ONE (or some L O L ) . well i must go it's nearly midnight and i have an early morning so goodnight ,,

Welcome, fairies - nice to have a new member, especially one so close to me (I'm in Richmond, North Yorkshire). You will find us a friendly, informal group: I would say just ask if you want to know anything, but you did!

Gilding wax, I make mine by using cheap furniture wax, I use the Lord Sheraton as it's quite soft: think it's still available in supermarkets. Scoop some of the wax into a small container and add a little mica powder of your choice: start with a small amount and keep trying it/adding to it until you're happy with the colour. If you haven't got any mica powders (Pearlex is one of the makes, they're sometimes called pearl powders) then I can give you a link.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Hello Fairies, a bit of something magical eh! Nice to meet you.
I'm a papercrafter, scrapping and card making with a bit of knitting or sewing thrown in for fun/practicality.
My craft room sounds like yours.

Hi Fairies, don't be shy we are small but a lovely group that's been through a lot together.

I'm another crafter that dabbles in lots of crafts. Mostly sewing at the moment but just finishing a crochet blanket for my daughter which is taking for ever!
