Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
A friend has asked me to make a card for her, to give to her priest who is celebrating the silver jubilee of his ordination. She would like an image of a priest's hands holding the host or the chalice to figure somewhere on the card: have an idea of what I'd like to do but can't find a suitable image (spent over an hour on Google). A lot of the graphics are cartoony, if you know what I mean: wouldn't mind a line image if I can't get something suitable. Preferably a free (or cheap) one, too: found a great one, but I think it must have been designed for use in websites, as it was several thousand dollars!
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks.

not exactly what you want but might do. My Cd doesn't have anything suitable I'm afraid.
http://www.faithclipart.com/images-templates/chalice.html
this has clipart of the hands and wafer/wine but not sure about photos, might be something if you dig deeper
http://www.christianppt.com/
some very nice backgrounds here.
I'll ask on FSUK and see if anyone has anything handy over there.

Re: Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
I had a look on my cd's but could not find the one I thought I had, then keyed 'praying hand pictures' into google worldwide and got up some very nice pictures, you have to try most of the sites that come up even the clipart ones, hope this is of some help

My Cd only has drawing type pictures on it - no photos. But if you get stuck I can post one on here.

Lynda, there is exactly what you want here:
http://www.salforddiocese.org.uk/vocations/index.html
and here:
http://www.salforddiocese.org.uk/index.html
only prob is they're small images. It might be too much trouble, but you could email them and ask them if they'd send you a larger one?
There's this one of a priest with the host and wine:

Re: Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
Thanks for all these links, girls: apart from the second one that Karelyn has posted, none of the others came up when I did the various searches that I tried. Will have a look when I've finished reading all the back posts.

Re: Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
Lynda this site doesn't actually have the priest or hands but some images that you can download, of host and chalice that I have used
http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/
The links Lorraine has given you are for the diocese I belong to and I have never seen them so off for a look now to see what it says about our lovely tin hut of a church which has now closed.

Re: Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
Thankyou to everybody who posted on here: I've now finished the card and I hope my friend will be pleased with it. I settled on one of the images that Karelyn sent, although I printed it in black and white, rather than colour, as I wanted a silver theme because it's the priest's 25th anniversary.
Oops - had better scan it in before I give it to her so you know what I did.

Re: Image of priest's hands holding host or chalice?
This is it:
Card blank is matt silver, then shiny silver mat (looks black in picture) under white, with the image on. Greeting (which is a play on words) is matted on figured silver. There are three clear diamante at the top and one either side of the greeting. Hope my friend will like it (and the priest, of course): I prefer doing less-is-more cards, but of course that's not everybody's taste.

Very appropriate , including the 3 gems, nice touch that.
You wouldn't get something as special as this in a shop, well done.

Yes, Karelyn - it's funny that we crafters do things in threes and so does God. Ours are only for artistic effect, though!
Thanks for all the nice comments: my friend is popping round tomorrow morning so will let you know what she thinks.
