Re: CJ CHAT
Maria, couldn't you ask a special favour and get Lorrainne to let you do hers first, then it could be done now!! instead of starting in Sept...you would be ahead of the game.
I really really wish i could join in, but i know i would struggle, so i would rather not spoil it for everyone. in any case i could always do my own cj based on your themes...lol...

Re: CJ CHAT
erm no Goaty, the problem is getting my own ready in time. I need to wait and see what timescale I am looking at.

But I dont know any operas let alone have a favourite one only one I know the name of is "Madame Butterfly"... oh and that one you used to use as a online name Lou... Tosca............Is the "Flight of the Valkyries" and opera??
Kate - I don't like opera but I shall look on the internet for pictures and info.
Thank goodness for Google.

Now that is an excellent idea for anyone who can't commit - make a double page
based on each CJ in the circle - that way you can do them in your own time and
no posting involved.
See - even goats have good ideas sometimes.

Re: CJ CHAT
Steph/goaty; but you just get you own work, and nothing through the door/on the step.
Lorraine, I know I could do opera, don't have to like it, did enjoy the art, even though I did get it first.

However noones has said whether the above mentioned things are actually operas of if I'm getting them mixed up with something else?? At least tell me I'm on the right path!!
Also me joining the CJ will def. be determined on whether I get a new job before it all properly kicks off

Re: CJ CHAT
Madame butterfly is, but I'd have to google the others, or go back to the library for the Usborne book on operas, I kid ye not. When my friends dragged me along to one, trying to convince me I'd enjoy it I got the book out so that I'd know what it was all about. It was Rigoletto sp? which I don't seem to remember being about anything much, it had a prince in it. The revue said nudity, so we looked out for that, it was brief and not exciting, the most memorable bit for me was when the greyhound (real) on the stage yawned when the star was doing one of her oh so long tra lala bits, which just meant hello, I knew how he felt! The costumes were lovely I must say, but the whole thing could have been condensed into 20 mins. They had lovely voices but loved them and didn't use them to entertain or inform just to show off.
I think I'm a bit pmt negative today, perhaps I should just say I prefer a play or ballet.

Re: CJ CHAT
Google don't seem to think it's an opera as such, The Who did an album of that name, just slip it in and Lorraine won't know till she gets it back LOL

Re: CJ CHAT
You're taking the pee, kate!!!! , lol.
Madame Butterfly, Valkyrie's and Tosca are all operas, Kate, yes.
Rigoletto is my favourite, closesly followed by Tosca but what the heck Karelyn was watching with a greyhound in it, is anybody's guess.

It was in the party scene! I've no idea either, maybe they'd just got back from hunting or something.

Re: CJ CHAT
One production I saw was set in modern times, but at least they stuck to the story although it wasn't anywhere near as good as the costume production i saw.

As I love all wild cats whatever folks do before me I won't have a problem
doing this one. I did 'cheetah' for a wild animal one last time and was
very pleased with it.
