Back in the UK! Empty Back in the UK!

Post by Guest Sun Aug 22, 2010 3:50 pm

Hi ya or y'all. Back in UK w clothes, mini pension and room w Kate (bless her little cotton socks) & Gary. Left behind all my craft stuff, son and mother. Son and mum ok. Craft stuff packed up ready for posting but dependent on last paycheck and son. Paycheck guaranteed. No guarantee re: son! Great to be back. UK even SMELLED good after 3 1/2 years away. Remember those of you from wkend two summers ago which was brill. Didn't get to meet Maria but hope things picking up just a little bit for you soon.

Love doing ATC's and can't wait to do some soon. Need challenges to get me going. Gotta be simple and creative - got not a lot to work with so creativity the KEY!!! Any ideas anyone???? Looking forward to learning lots of techniques. Really behind on them. Doing a card evening in a couple of weeks. Love making little pictures more than anything else. Not a practical useful bone in my body!!! Us 60's hippy chicks - totally on another planet! Anyway any ideas or starting points from anyone greatly appreciated.

Look forward to hearing from you guys. Remember Lorraine and Karin, Di, Patty, Helen, Sue, Bobs, Jo, Kim, Cath, Cynthia. Anyone remember
ME??????!!!!!!!!!!!! If so, be in touch, ok? Hope to hear from SOMEONE soon.

Yes, I remember you well Lindy. Look forward to seeing your posts and your crafting efforts. Are you planning on staying with Kt and Gary for long, or moving on to somewhere of your own?

A response - YAY! Staying w Kt and Gary till can find somewhere for myself that I can AFFORD or till they kick me OUT! Better be on my best behaviour. Will be looking for part time job sooner rather than later. Wish me luck! Give us a theme or starting point and will make something tomorrow. Not so good at motivating myself. Should make my Mum a card. She'll be looking for mail. Any ideas??

How abaout a missing you card, which could be true in any one of a number of ways.
I haven't met you, as I was in the States at the time of the retreat you went on, but I've heard a little about you from KT,
Have you got yout teeth in? They might let you stay longer if you wear them LOL Is that right, do you wear teeth?

Its almost like I was sat side by side while she wrote that giving tips... lol Oh dear, gonna have to get her tinterweb savvy or she'll never get to join in any of the swaps lol

She got all excited when she saw her post count go up lol

Yes she can stay if she keeps her teeth in! and cleans the house, and walks the dogs, and does the cooking, laundry, dishwasher... The list goes on Mr Green

lol Kt.

I remember you visiting and going to a retreat Lindy, unfortunately I have yet to meet all but one of the girls. I hope you manage to get yourself some employment and more permanent living space soon. Meanwhile you can keep Kt on her toes!

Hello! You don't know me, I sort of 'disappeared' from the forum for a couple of years; but now I'm back and they seem to be stuck with me!

I'm Tina, scrapper, ATC maker, occasional card maker, and newly addicted glass beadmaker.

Looking foward to gettng to know you (assuming you are as nice as that girl of yours Wink Laughing ).

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

I remember you being around and seeing photos although I haven't
met you as I couldn't go to that retreat as I was poorly - went to
the last one though and got on really well with Kate .
Nice to see you back in the UK.
Kate will guide you to Nona's (Teabag) ATC swaps. They are great
fun.

Woo Hoo Lindy, yes I remember you. What I remember most is that at midnight on the Saturday night you Di and I were going up the stairs to bed and you both sang happy birthday to me LOL!!! Great stuff.

Good to see you back in UK am sure things will settle soon, look around the site for sketches and LOs to do for inspiration, failing that check out some of the blogs for challenge links.

As for the teeth, it doesn't bother me if you leave em out Mr Green Mr Green

Well gosh! A HUGE response and confess to being a bit overwhelmed! Enough about the teeth (I'll get you for that Kt - one day, when you're feeling better and when you least expect it, I will seek my revenge!!!!). All this technology a bit daunting. Bit (VERY) shy so excuse if briefly appear and then run away. Off to bank tomorrow and business stuff which TERRIBLE about putting off then will check out some of your ideas / challenges to get me motivated re some cards & stuff. Best friend ever and her little girl coming to visit Kt and me on weekend - been 4 1/2 yrs so YAY! Kt and I EXCITED. Owe them both birthday cards (me, not Kt needless to say!) so MUST have something by wekend! Must get started - NOW!!!! KATE: Paper, glue, scissors and pens IMMEDIATELY, PLEASE!!!!!

Hey! No need to scare me away. I scare MYSELF away. Oh well. Trying to do all sorts of bits and pieces to get life together here again after 3 1/2 years away. MUST STOP MOVING from country to country - too much like hard work now I'm in my dotage and all. I'd say it was much easier working 45 - 50 hours shift work and not having a life but I really wouldn't mean it! Taking me awhile to get the hang of this internet chatting after 4 yrs w/out a computer but enjoying it! Can see the appeal now. Don't give up on me yet!
