Re: Back in the UK!
My Kate have a reputation for wackiness or wot???!! Don't know where she gets it from - we are ALL perfectly NORMAL in OUR little world!
Went job hunting yesterday - just handing out CV's and picking up applications. Might be Christmas work now but we'll see. That would be ok w/me. Early days. Don't expect it to be easy, hard times everywhere, so wish me luck! Willing to work evenings and weekends so that might help. Filling in apps today and taking back tomorrow - gets me out of the house on a Saturday to give Kate and G some SPACE.
LOVE being back in a city. Just NOT a country person, I guess. Plus, I was a Northern Yankee in the South. Truly two totally different groups of people and cultures. Now I'm a YANK in the NORTH! Go home and I'm too British. Here I'm American? Perhaps I should just move to Taipei (spelling?)??!!! Surely they must have agencies in Taipei?! Or Caracas?!!! Or what's Guatemala like this time of year????!!!!
It'll all be fine - just takes time. But really LOVE being back in UK. Feels much more like home than Seymour, Tennessee. There weren't even any pavements and nowhere to walk! Or any way to get anywhere. Your car breaks down and you're just stuck out there with the possum and the skunks and THEY keep getting squashed by cars!!!! Feel lucky I survived!!!
Off to fill in forms for Mothercare and Toys R Us. Yay!

Re: Back in the UK!
Thank you, Di! Back at it today. Feel itsy bit insecure w/out work - lost at sea! That's me - instead of enjoying having a break and using it productively for me, I'm just gonna STRESS OUT and WORRY about it!!! Then when working won't have any time to do anything nice or fun for me. Anyone else see anything WRONG with this picture??????

Re: Back in the UK!
Mum isnt keen on agencies after a bad experience with one who wanted her to contact the home office re her right to work, despite having a letter and also being in the country longer than the agency person had been alive
Shops will all be opening up for xmas jobs soon, so she should be ok

Re: Back in the UK!
She was on the old green forum, then we moved over and mum couldn't use the net at my aunts anymore!
Re: Back in the UK!
ah I see, might be worth talking to people around and about and see if anyone can recommend a good one.
As you say though, quite a few will be looking for staff. Argos seems a good one from what I'vebeen told.
