Curved decoupage scissors
Not that I do decoupage, but I often cut out fiddly bits and could do with some really good curved scissors. Used to have a pair (nail scissors from local chemist) but they gave up the ghost and couldn't get any more.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
Sorry, Lorraine: didn't make myself clear. Can find lots when I do a search, but I'd like a recommendation from any of you if you've found some really good ones.
Sounds like Kim's are good - thankyou for the offer, but I don't think I'd get on with the tweezer-type ones. Was thinking maybe Steph will know of some, or anyone who does decoupage regularly.

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
Thanks for the offer, Billie - but do you remember what make yours were, and have you been pleased with them? And will you be able to get the same make again, anyway? From what I can gather reading reviews of scissors in general, they don't make 'em like they used to, even the same scissors aren't as good as they were. I would be happy to buy an expensive pair, but would want to be sure they would do the trick: am thinking that if I got a pair intended for embroidery they would be excellent for paper.

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
I use a couple of pairs of embroidery ones for deco, also the small scissors that come in manicure sets. Its finding the right one thats comfy for your hands though...I have my faves and others that are really difficult for me.

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
I have the very small orange-handled Fiskars straight embroidery scissors and find they're okay for decoupage. nice sharp points.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: Curved decoupage scissors
Ah, now that's interesting, Tina. I was reading some reviews of Fiskars scissors, not craft ones, and people were saying they weren't as good as they used to be or when it was Wilkinson Sword. However, paper is a different matter. Wonder if they do a curved one? Will have a look.

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
I actually have 5 curved scissors Lynda, didn't realize till I went to get the make one is Wilkinsons this is the ones I bought at the fair, a curved and a straight pair, then Boots surgical sicssors, Pergamano and a pair from Germany they are the oldest nearly 40 years old, and one I can't read and the last with no maker, the German ones are the best really,

Re: Curved decoupage scissors
Wilkinson Sword don't exist any more, Billie: found this out when I was looking for a replacement pair of kitchen scissors. They are owned by Fiskars now and the reviews say they're not as good as Wilkinson's. Not surprised the German ones are best: made when things were made properly, eh!
