Tina's SS to Lynda Empty Tina's SS to Lynda

This is my super SS from Tina:

Tina's SS to Lynda Secret10

The concept of a mugrug is a new one on me (must get out more) but it's one of Tina's miniature quilting masterpieces: 'Two whales from Wales', as Tina calls it in the note you can see underneath. The fabric on the reverse has cups and pots on it, so Tina left it without a Made By label so we could use it double-sided - and yes, Tina, I do recognise that and some other fabrics! A sheet of chipboard snowflakes (wonder what made Tina think I liked those?); a huge pad of Christmas paper, which should keep me going for a while; a really lovely frame embossing folder (which I immediately realised would look fabulous in landscape with a snowy Christmas village scene in the centre); and a card of pretty mother of pearl buttons with sort of circles on them (probably can't see in the 'photo) - the card is a reprint of a Brooke Bond Tea card of British costume. Oh, and one of Molly's clever cards, too - they really are effective!

I'm thrilled with everything, Tina - thankyou so much. Looking forward to having a play with the folder to see how it looks, just as soon as I uncover it from all the stuff that's accumulated in here! Have already gone through the papers, planning what I'll do with them! Might make a banner with the snowflakes, rather than using them on cards or projects: that way I can keep them as a memory of Christmas 2013 rather than giving them away. Not got any ideas for the buttons, though: pity I don't knit, otherwise could put them on a cardi!

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's.

Lynda

So glad you like it all! The mug rug is sized that you can fit a mug and a biscuit on it  Wink , I discovered them by taking part in a popular patchwork swap.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Or two mugs snuggling together, maybe? Might try it out this afternoon: for some strange reason, we always have breakfast tea and mid-morning coffee in cups and only go on to mugs from lunchtime onwards!

I've seen a few mug rugs, they're a bit of a starter project for would be quilters sometimes, but a nice 'quick' project for keen quilters too. This one's super, love the motif. Very nice gifts.
