Future Projects. Empty Future Projects.

Post by Lorraine Fri 12 Sep 2014 - 17:09

I'm going to be starting on this later.  It's going to be a mare to cut out.  My fabric is only 45" wide so I have to cut out on a single layer and there's shed loads of pieces.  I'm making view A with the collar for Nic.
Future Projects. Vintag10

I was going to make this coat next, but decided on the vintage dress instead.  Gorgeous wool type fabric with a super soft finish and the slightly patterned lining.  I'm making the blue one 'cause I quite like the funnel neck.
Future Projects. Coat10

I love this poplin and thought it would make a gorgeous little dress for Mia for next summer.
Future Projects. Dress-10

This'll be another dress for Nic. The main view.
Future Projects. Dress-11

and then I have some black and red suiting and some blue linen look cotton.  Black trousers, blue dress and a red jacket maybe.
Future Projects. Trouse10

I have got other stuff, but I think that'll keep me busy for a while.

Lovely designs.
Have you thought of advertising your services as a dressmaker/alterations. I know some people are always looking for someone able to make up a one off outfit or take up trousers etc.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

Ditto Tina, I keep convincing myself that I no longer have fabric, but I have 3 or is it 4 plastic crates which are now in my room, the spare room and the loft.
Love the patterns.
If you did decide to do alterations find out what local firms charge. I used to do it for a dry cleaning company when Jake was a baby, but never got good money for the work I put in, I was too particular about the work I did. There were some pretty hideous clothes coming in, from men who wanted tatty trousers hemmed or new zips put in, they were not the sort of trousers you want to touch in that area even after cleaning.

No alterations for me. I don't want to be under an obligation to anyone. I sew for the enjoyment of it, like my crafting, and anyway altering and mending's no fun at all lol.

I think that's what's wrong Billie. It needs a pale fabric.

Yes, it is Jo.  And, I'm so glad you posted on here 'cause I forgot about this thread.

I was just about to buy that pattern, even though I was sure I'd already got it.  I can't find the darned thing...looked the other day.  Now I know I've definitely got it somewhere, lol.

2 dresses done and black and red fabrics in use now. Mr Green
