Christmas ‘pyjamas’ Empty Christmas ‘pyjamas’

Post by Scrap Monkey Wed 11 Nov 2020 - 14:24

I’m actually only making the bottoms, have bought four matching t-shirts online ( need to be able to finish them on time!). Girls and I are having trousers and I’m making P boxer shorts. Thought you might like to see the fabric , t- shirts are red, and the labels I bought to sew into  them 😇🤣

Photos are in the next post; there are so many adverts on the forum on the ipad I struggled to see to upload anything at all!

LOL at the labels, Tina! Fabric is great, really fun and festive. Will all look good with the red t-shirts. Thanks for posting the pic.

It's cotton poplin; based on the fact that I needed to buy in quantity, I chose that as it was only £5.99 a metre (less my Minerva swatch club discount of 10%). That said, I'm very happy with the quality; it's very soft and washed beautifully.

Rachel doesn't 'like' home made things, she's all about show. I wanted to do this for a bit of fun, but couldn't justify spending too much money in case she turns her nose up. Having said that, I upgraded my overlocker this week (sold the shop kiln and my old overlocker to pay for it), so they look pretty professional even if I say so myself. Molly is in on it and really likes them, ( I needed to measure her and they are both the same size), although she thinks I am only making the two pairs.

Rachel won't have to worry about 'show', Tina, as you'll be home together and no-one else to see! Well done on your upgrade, am sure it will get lots of use.

Hopefully she'll grow out of it LO. I bet that was hard- selling the shop kiln. Nice that the new toy is working a treat though.

Thanks all, yes Rachel may well surprise us! I've had conversations with both girls about our Christmas this year; we, like most families I suppose, set a lot of store by our Christmas traditions. It's going to be difficult for them not to see Grandma (although more relaxing not having visitors!), and the stockings which are really the only surprise gifts with lots of small gifts in are going to be limited by our inability to go shopping in Cardiff.

I am planning on spending time with silver clay later this week, so hopefully I can make a couple of surprises for them then.

Am sure you will come up with some lovely things for them, Tina. Please don't worry, everyone understands how difficult it all is at the moment.
