I Despair....

I think I'm gonna give up this crafting lark. Especially scrapbooking. Why is it so hard sometimes?

I've printed a pic of Mia. Should be easy enough - red top, blue jeans. Do you think amongst my hundreds of sheets of paper, I could find any to go with the pic? Nope. No chance.

I search the net for inspiration on LO's, find a beauty to help me along but none of my papers or embellies reproduce anything similar.

Do you think that trying to scrap on a budget restricts what you can do, even if you have a shed load of stash?

Have I got to buy every single thing that's made to be in with a chance of producing a trouble free LO?

Lorraine, your work is beautiful, and I definitely dont think its to do with budget, if anything, its to do with being 'inspired' by another layout that perhaps isnt your style. What i mean is jsut do what feels and looks right to you and dont try to get close to anything else. You have your own beautiful style.

Ditto ditto ditto Lorraine - one off day doesn't mean you have to give up scrapping you know, or I would have given up the first month I started!! Now, get a grip you silly old fool and get on with it!!! And post the results up so we can all see what you are like on a bad day - still 100% better than the rest of us on good days!

I can't help with the red and blue layout BUT next time you want to scrap Mia get your favourite stash together and get her dressed in the colours you want!!! If she hasn't got clothes to suit, go and buy her a new outfit, I am sure your daughter would be thrilled with the result.

No seriously though, although I have done very few layouts, I have loads of paper for when I want to do something but like you, I never seem to have anything to suit. I think you are striving for perfection and wont give up until you get it.

Get a white sheet, (frightened me first time I did it) and create your own PP with inks, can't believe you haven't thought of making your own, you're so creative.
I do have some red and blue, can we see the pics to see if they would go.

Another good way is to start with that white sheet of card, then use various size script stamps in two pale colours and stamp all round the edges to reduce the size of the "whiteness" and go inwards from there.

you must have been having an off day or two cos ive never known you without inspiration , and from what i saw when i came to visit , you have no shortage of stash . but being a typical crafter you feel you have to have it all and more besides . im sure there is something in there that will go with red and blue , you just aint found it yet !!

1. You are your own worst critic
2. You have a bucketload of talent but it doesn't happen to be scrapbooking at the moment
3. A paper that looked wrong yesterday can look perfect a week later
4. You have a couple of things on your mind at the moment I imagine
5. Erm run out of things but you will not remain mojoless forever!

I did give up yesterday, but might take another look tonight.

If all else fails, photoshop the picture and make it black and white, with just one colour i.e. just the red top or the blue jeans - you know those arty ones that were all the rage not so long ago.

I know it's exasperating when you can't get inspiration. If it happens to me when
crafting I just put it to one side and do some comps.
At least it sounds as if you are feeling brighter today.

Fine in between the pain. It's definately getting worse and longer bouts.
I'm not looking forward to Monday, but hopefully Ill have some
answers and a date.

With Den and the boys, and my best mate it's like having 5 mother hens.
Not complaining - it's lovely to know they care as long as they let me do
things for myself.
