Inspired by others..... (image heavy)

I thought it was about time, after seeing the good efforts of you other gardeners, to get my sadly neglected back yard sorted out.
A brief story.
I bought the house 13 years ago, and My Nana bought me a jasmine plant to put in the back yard. I bought another to go with it. I looked after them for 10 years. Remember when I was off sick about 3 years ago, with stress and depression? Well, I lost all interest in "outside" and became a bit of a recluse.
Geoff has turned that around, and I took a good look at my back yard. 3 years of neglect led to the whole thing being taken over by my jasmine and next door's ivy.

A couple of weeks ago, beer in one hand, shears in the other, I started attacking the jungle. I began to lose heart though, cos it seemed no matter how many hours I spent out there, I just didn't feel like I was getting anywhere with it! This weekend, Geoff and I spent literally dawn till dusk on Friday, Saturday and Sunday working on it.
The result......

Left wall, complete with mini greenhouse, where I am attempting to grow lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, sprouts, beans, peas, cauliflower, and peppers.


Back wall, with space for pots of flowers!


Right wall. With jasmine well pruned and under control. Since this pic was taken another mini greenhouse has been put against this wall.


My reclaimed table and chairs. With the lovely herb pot that Geoff bought me to inspire me to go out there!

Another amazing garden transformation! Well done, you - and Geoff, of course. Just think how you'll enjoy sitting out there with a glass of wine this summer, eating the herb-flavoured salad that you've grown yourself.

Made a good job of your garden, but I bet it smelt lovely with all the Jasmine going wild.

Wow, what a transformation. I bet you feel proud of what you've accomplished, fantastic. AGood to have the before photos, so you don't let it get that bad again.

Di that's really great work - I know how hard it is to pull something round that has been neglected. I am working hard in the afternoons on the Hospice garden but I don't think anyone's weeded out there for years!!
