Some cards made using my new Silhouette machine!!!
hi girls,
i am now the lucky owner of the silhouette diecutting machine!!!
it wd normally be out of my reach price wise but someone very kindly sold me theres for a fraction of the price and its practically new,it had been sitting in her cupboard for last 2 years after only being used a handfull of times and thought it should go to a new home and be used.shes also not crafting as much either at moment.
anyway here are some cards ive made using phrases ive bought and cut with my new baby!!:-)

Lovely! I especially like that 'Thank You'; it's great!
(Says the woman who has just spent 1/2 hour cutting a very similar scrolly bit for a frame for her CJ ).

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: Some cards made using my new Silhouette machine!!!
they're nice. I like the Mr and Mrs one. Not heard of that machine before. I would end up using it a lot too but not able to justify spending lots at the moment.

Great scrolly words. Does it just do words ?
Shame you aren't coming to the retreat - you could have brought
it and given us a demo.

Ah didn't realise that. I'd never heard of it.
Tina gave me a demo on a Cricut but I really do not have anywhere
to keep it - that's if I could afford it.

The silhouette is like the Craft Robo, Steph. You don't need to spend money on extra cartridges as you can do everything on your computer, like I do. Swirls, welded text, shapes, pictures...all sorts and they're not so expensive now. About £200 and I paid £340 for mine when they first came out.

Sounds good. I've heard that things like the Cricut can go wrong or
have lots of problems but if it goes through the computer should be ok.
I'll Google and see what it's like.

Re: Some cards made using my new Silhouette machine!!!
before i got it i thought it looked like the best one out there purley cause you can use any true type font on your pc and you can download loads for free online then you can make them any size you want.
all the other machines felt a bit fixed and my experience with the revolution felt very fixed and you would hve to pay out sometime up to £90 pound just for one set of alphabet on one font and you couldnt changee the size.
it does all sorts theres not much it doesnt do though i havnt worked out welding my own words yet it seems to complicated for me to get my head round you can also by pens for it and put them in place of the blade and it will print images with it and in some cases print and cut.
it also sets rhinestone shapes apparently too.
its a quickutz machine though ive been told that it now doesnt belong to quickutz and maybe belongs to craft robo company.
there £270 on qvc with 4 quickutz pads and $50 of credit to buy designs online.
and there always adding to the online catalogue.
but i got mine for a little more than a quater of that.

Liking these a lot, esp the Prince of Peace, but not altogether sure what occasion they'd be for, Easter?
Reminds me I must play with my slice a bit more.

Lovely cards, Richard: simple and elegant (just how I like them!) and gorgeous colours! Have fun with your new machine.

i primarily will use these lots just to send to people in church who are unwell or going through a really tough time and that can be alot there perfect as get well soon cards as you just can feel lifted and calm just through seeing the words.
i ao think some people may in time want to buy these in church too though i dont have many opportunities as yet.
ive just cut of loads more prince of peaces too for more cards.

hi lou,
so youve got one too then?
lou where do you buy your replacement adhesive matts from?
i know bgpayne.com does good prices on pads but she hasnt got any matts on her website at moment.
i tried doing some die cutson velvet paper and it was a disaster!!!!mainly because the matt wasnt sticky enough to hold the velvet in place.
it still works ok for the quickutz pad sheets though akthough im finding that the adhesive on the quickutz pads isnt as strong as i would like it to be its good in the sence that its almost repositional if you make a mistake or change your mind but i find im constantly tapping it down in places on large dies which iannoying as i know the recipitent is going to need to do the same!!!!!!
lolxxx
Re: Some cards made using my new Silhouette machine!!!
I get mine from Graphtec, Richard but I'm not sure if the Robo and Silhouette use the same ones.
Get yourself some repositionable spray glue and you can resticky your mats.
