Ooh, I say - that's amazing, Kate! Did a post-it note book cover like that once, but nothing as major as yours.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Re: Metal Embossed Book
it was fun and hard work! But like u Patty I held back from buying the kit as it was too expensive. May try building the kit up over time or seeing what I can blag off my dad via the college
It took a couple of hours, but probably could of been done quicker or taken longer depending on detail and then adding colour after. I may add more colour to mine but need to be careful as it's stazon and most things used to colour the metal took it off which with a detailed stamp isnt that good.
I'd also maybe do it differently next time, like the border across the top, I may stamp it on the inside then just have an embossed pattern with no black markings on top. Or I could just remove it with stazon cleaner...
Just need Cynthia and Sue to put up piccies of theirs

it's gorgeous kate.
you could take an ear bud and stazon cleaner to clean it up. that would work.

Re: Metal Embossed Book
You don't have to buy a whole load of stuff, Patty: when we did the small project at PaperArtsy, it was mostly using things we'd already have. We stamped the design on the back of the metal piece, so we'd know where to emboss. Started by using a medium embossing tool, then worked up to the really big one (Pergamano do one, I think). We filled the "dips" with clay to support the embossing, but you could use anything that will do that.

thats how we did the fish at our class too. Stamped then embossed. It was a plain metal sheet and that was the only thing I wouldn't have had at home. She was going to get more in,but never did. I wonder if it would work with a coke can I've still not done a die with that one.

Re: Metal Embossed Book
Well I've dropped not so subtle hints to my dad, "Can you get me a teflon tool, skinny and a fat paper stump and some sheets of copper"
Re: Metal Embossed Book
Well here are photo's taken during the class. Youn get the chance to see all of our books together plus reverse images too. Enjoy!
Sue, Cynthia and Kate all had different themes
Sue's had a dragon theme, like Kate's, but on the back she used the Tanda stamps roof tile image to represent scales! Cynthia went for a heart theme. The Elusive Images heart just looks amazing in copper, as do the keys and locks that Kate used.
Sue and Cynthia did work some more color into their books after I took these photos. Sue was especially thrilled to be taking home a completed project!!

I know, he is cool isnt he Lou. Nearly bought the set but couldn't afford it!
Re: Metal Embossed Book
Yes Sue's book is fabulous especially the scales on the back. Believe it or not the stamp design used to create the scales were in fact roof tiles . Just shows what you can make with imagination .
