Post by Guest Mon 28 Mar 2011 - 17:44

I thought I would start my own log for losing weight instead if crashing in on Karins, dont feel like you have to comment but as Lorraine mentioned I would like somewhere to log, and if I have had a gain you can all comment on me been a pig LOL

Starting weight was 13stone
First week I lost 6 pounds
Last week lost a pound

so 12st 7lbs at the moment

I tend to weigh myself on a Thursday, sounds daft but it lets me get over the weekend as I am still cheating a bit on a weekend, I find it so much harder when Dave isnt at work, as I make him scrummy breakfasts and dinner. I do make sure I have a shake for breakfast and avoid temptation but then dinner I am picking a bit.

During the week it is great, although it seems to be getting harder now I have been on it two weeks. My problem is not that I am hungry just that I like food LOL.

I have two tubs left so will see if I will carry on after them, and see what I weigh. I need to start exercising more, so that will help

Well done, Emma. clap That's an excellent start.

I don't know where you find your willpower to do it on Slimfast though..I couldn't get on with anything like that.

i lost alot with slimfast once, and quite quickly too but the trouble is I put it all back on as soon as I went back to normal eating.

good luck with it anyway though Emma, and if it works for you then thats good enough!

docs do not recommend using the shakes as you tend to put on what you lose as soon as you start eating normally again and then some more on top . so try filling up with water . specialists say that often when we feel hungry we are probably only thirsty so drink more water and use fruit as a filler not the expensive shakes .only trying to save you some dosh emma

Post by Guest Tue 29 Mar 2011 - 8:29

I lost a bit when I did this when I was younger and kept it off, so I know I will be ok, I know it will shrink my appetite and I will have smaller portion sizes once I start eating healthy properly again, so am hoping I will be ok.

Akins was my downfall I did that a few years back, and it was great I lost two stone and quickley in time for my weddig, but then like you said Maria I put loads back on and more which is why I think I am where I am today.

Think I have enough left for another week (its the tesco cheapy one two tubs for £6 which will last you a week per tub, so nottoo bad) and will start my healthy eating plan after that / a bit of excersise

I do honestly think I could stay on it and just substitue one meal a day with the shake as I am that busy sometimes I "forget " to eat or "dont have time", but yeah that woul be expensive

Well done Emma for starting to do something about weight anyway! You do what's best for you. I found some time ago when I put on weight (not recently luckily!) I just had smaller portions on tea plates rather than my huge dinner plates and it seemed to work well and I lost all I needed to ... more importantly didn't put any back on either, but circumstances over the past two years have meant I have trouble putting any ON, never mind losing more, so I am probably not the best one to talk.

Good luck to you Emma - go for it! xxx

We are all different aren't we. I put on weight under stress, but really I just have to accept that I eat too much and don't exercise enough. The trouble is you have to do so much more exercise than it seems to be logical for the little you lose, it's so disheartening when you put in a lot of time and effort and find that it's worth less than a mars bar.
I'm just living in the wrong society, bring back Reubens.

Emma, well done, that a very good start, you'll be able to feel that loss already in your clothes, keep it up, whatever works for you.

Tried it once. Pleasant taste but not as a meal replacement,
but as Dawn said, if it works for you, go for it.

Well had another ok week lost 2lb, not looking forward (well I am ) to weekend got a lot on.

Am at a friends tomorrow, and sleeping over so it will be a takeaway(I could take something but I know I will be so tempted), but in a good way I can tell the difference as I cant eat as much at the moment so stomach must have shrank a litle bit. So although I could usually eat a full 10 inch pizza I cant imagine been able to do any were near that.

But then mothers day Sunday we are having a trip out to Hornsea for fish and chips! I think I am just going to really aim to have the shakes as much as possible over the weekend, maye take a made up shake to my friends for the morning at least, and then after having dish and chips I wont really have tea, so have a shake for tea instead

Only a tub and a bit left, so just over a week left, but to be honest I thought it would be coming off quicker LOL! Maybe its good this way to sustain the weight loss.

My main aim is to just feel a bit better in my self but also we are hoping to try again in July / August time, and I would much happier to weigh what IO did just before Faith which was 11 and a half stone, and I only put on 12 pounds.

But if I stay as I am I will be over 14 stone, and I am only 5ft and a peanut LOL!

Sorry for waffling LOL

blurdy hell emma ,is pizza your fave . Tee Hee
good luck with it though and be patient ,as you said the slower it comes off the more chance of it staying off .
if i were you ,this weekend id decide which of the 2 i was going to have ,takeaway or fish n chips in hornsea and stick with that ,use the shakes when its time for the one you decided NOT to have .

I think it's a youth thing I used to be able to eat a whole pizza when I went out for a meal and I think they were 12", with a salad and then a pud. Now a quarter of a pizza is enough, mind you, I was more active then.
Good luck with it allNot sure about the choosing of months to try again, but that's just me and my experience in that line. Hope it all works out.

Last week i surprisingly lost a 1lb, cant believe it really! But please

This week I have been super good (before the weekend, but even today I have been good)

Thursday I went to ZUMBA was brilliant, has anyone tried it? Its a new aerobics / latin dance / salsa craze. It was such a laugh, it was in a church so I didnt have to stand / jog about in front of a big mirror, but really enjoyed it and sweat loads. It was the lady's first time so noone had been before so we were all in the same boat.

Then on Friday I walked to Cottingham with the pram (its a big tank, double pram) which is about 2 and a half miles, it was so hot, but a lovely walk I took the girls to see the horses.

SOOO am hoping next week will be a bit better! But am sill just happy its coming off

Well done Emma, I've never been tempted to try Slimfast as milkshake type things have never appealed, but you have to do what suits you.
Kim I could easily eat a ten inch pizza but can't anymore-good thing!

Well I stayed the same last week was a bit gutted as I had done so much blumming excersise, am feeling very fat tonight (no reason, not been naughty or anything) so will see what the morning brings.

I have had a fab day though have had some lovely news from a friend, and had a major clear out in my craft room / bedroom, although the bedroom has more plastic craft draws than nice brown wooden ones, I love it LOL

Nearly finished my website, I will post a link soon to see what you all think and tomorrow is Daves last day at work for 11 days, cant wait so much time to spend (without spending money) with the family and hopefully in the sunshine
