Wedding outfit
Here we are, after the church service (hence flat/wet hair) and before we dried ourselves off, put my heels back on and went to the reception..

WELL YOU BLENDED IN THEN oops caps lock on
im sure its an outfit you will get lots of wear out of and the dress can be worn with othewr things to the jacket , a nice lacy bolero , a longer jacket ,on its own so its versatile , a great purchase

Re: Wedding outfit
Ooh, very nice, Tina - my sort of outfit (for that type of occasion, of course), flip-flops excepted! Kim's right: you will get so much wear out of the dress and the jacket would look very striking over plain black with some blingy jewellery.

Re: Wedding outfit
That was my justification in buying it, told Phil the dress (and jacket) were 'investment pieces', and that they will be my 'going out' clothes for the next ten years. Not sure he bought that one . Looked much better with 3 1/2" heels

Re: Wedding outfit
mm the flipflops dont do anything for it ,good job you expleined about the heels coming on again
id be tempted to make it a matching longline ,as in hem length coat for other occasions too , and now you have your dressmaking head on you could do it yourself .

Re: Wedding outfit
Ooh - are you making a shrug, Tina? As in sewing rather than knitting? Have been searching for my ideal shrug/bolero for ages, without success: if there's a sewing pattern, maybe I could have a go (used to make my own clothes years ago). Of course, that's after I've done all the other sewing jobs.....

Re: Wedding outfit
wellll, there a three tops to complete for Molly first for her birthday (one down, two to go), then the jersey ( ) halter neck top for me, a new handbag, some more shopping bags.... but yes, I do have a pattern for a shrug; it goes with the halter neck top/ dress pattern Simplicity 2947. Not bought the fabric yet though...

Re: Wedding outfit
Yes, jersey fabric (even the very thin type) holds no mystery these days with good machines. I have a Bernina and it copes with absolutely everything. Because I am so short, I nearly always have to shorten Tshirts and other stuff like that and the machine has a special stitch so you can't see the difference between the M&S bought garment hems and my own ones. You sew it on the right side, that's the only difference. Don't be put off by this naughty person!!!!!
