Lovely stuff, all of it! Especially like the challenge from over the road ... so typical of our kids, eh?

Great cakes Karelyn and love the LO's too. What did you use in the end for the spirally bits on the cakes?

Doh, I cropped the pic of Tracy's card too but it's decided not to save that, it's showing ok on photobucket but puts the original here.
I used Bear grass which DD coloured in for me with a permanent marker, Billies idea I think, we told them not to eat the bit that had the stalks in.
I discovered that Culpit (the food deco company) make a 'bear grass' in different colours but I'd left it too late to order any in, not sure if theres is an artificial version, I would think so. I liked the effect though.

and that worked very well. VERY clever.

Great cakes, love the WI one best.

It's not fun if you do it all day every day and my skills are not as honed as they were, I'm not a businesswoman either, never been able to charge enough to make anything, thanks for the compliments girls, but it's not me. Takes up a lot of room in the house, and I get a bit stressed if I'm doing a wedding cake and someone even breathes in the same room.
I used to make cakes for people and had thought about it, but it's not something you can plan either, like these none for months, then 2 at once, busy all summer with wedding cakes too.

yes i see what you mean but you can also make money on small cakes too , look at how much folks charge for a cupcake nowadays . but you are right, you do have to have a business head about it . id be like you too and give them all away. im too soft

No use doing it if you get stressed about it, Karelyn: we should be doing these things for enjoyment.
