Lagothrix Soccus
Here he is, sitting on my radiator. No I didn't make the socks myself, too time consuming and I wouldn't bother making socks to chop them up, I'd just knit a monkey LOL
Socks; 2 pairs from £ land- used 1pr, so not bad, I bagged him up with a jokey label giving care instructions.
The name is the first part of the latin name for a wooley monkey and soccus is latin for sock, or rather sock comes from the latin soccus which of course you all knew.
I think it would look better if I'd used the kind with the different coloured heels but I didn't have time to scour the town.
I'm happy with him for a fun gift.
I gave him nostrils after taking the picture.

I saw these in th Homemade magazine and thought they were great fun. I love him.
Re: Lagothrix Soccus
You do need two socks Billie, but you could use odd ones, the body and legs are one sock and the arms, tailand nose are the other sock.
I googled; sock monkey instructions and combined two sets of instructions.
I think I followed this pattern, but just cut it free hand, didn't bother drawing it out.

Re: Lagothrix Soccus
He's fabulous, looks like far more than two socks, maybe one day I will get out the sewing needle!
