I trust I will tread on nobody's toes here, nor be treated as a mean old bat, but this year I have decided NOT to send individual Christmas cards on the forum nor to Southend Scrappers and my other Card Club members, but instead to donate the cost of materials and postage to our MacMillan Nurses fund. Patty lovely idea, I was having a rudolph day today to try and get most of my cards made. I usually end up making them and giving them out the next day on the last day of term to my colleagues. I only make them for family, collegues, close friends and crafters, for the first time ever, I counted up how many I need to make, and it is 87+ aargh, no wonder I'm often last minute with them. So those of you who get a remodelled rather than made from scratch card will please understand.

Like you Karelyn I have 100+ cards to make, I do try to put some in the staff room to sell, then I buy cards in the sales for Martin to use for work and lily to use for school. It just gets too many in the end. Donation is a good idea, that way you are saving on the enviroment with paper etc., and helping a good cause. Good for you xx

I haven't done one of these on here before. Is there any guidance on the handmade item? I know you can't value them financially, but could you let me know what people got last year perhaps.

Thrifty I was VERY lucky as last year Helen actually sent me the most amazing matchbox drawset which is GORGEOUS! Will have to take pics of it and put it up.

Year before Lynda made me a gorgeous stocking and also a paper block all made from recycled bits (which is now on my craft desk!).

I think I've made atc's, altered cd's & little books before for my SS's.

I got a little book last year, and the year before erm, brain fade again can't remember. But it could be anything, tag book, notebook, jewellrey, candles, soaps, anything that can be altered. Its all up to your own imagination. xx

...hand made chocs , shop bought ones but still labelled hand made
...a lovely beaded key ring

...a sewing case is one i gave to someone , you know the ones we used to make in jr school from felt and blanket stitched edging , incl needles and thread

So what was in it Richard, do tell, I haven't done this one before, so I'm quizzing all the 'old hands'.

I really don't think I am going to manage this swap this year. So sadly I will have to decline. Life is just too busy at the moment and won't be slowing down anytime soon.

So Cath, you won't be getting me this year again, lol. Sods law that it would happen a 3rd time, so I have put a stop to that, lol.
