Tree Festival
This year's Christmas Tree Festival at Beccles, a country town about 10 miles from us, where the kids went to High School and belonged to Air Cadets, so quite local to us.
There were 51 trees in all decorated by organisations ranging from toddler groups and schools through to the Public Hall, WI, Tesco, the lido, Red Hat ladies and the hospice.
I thought of Lynda when I saw the re-cycled decorations, mostly made from carrier bags, but other sorts of packaging as well.
Oops I seem to have put the cork one up twice, sorry, a contribution by one of the pubs, the reindeer was good, not sure if you can see that very well. Selfies was the one that got my vote in the kids section although they're obviously not selfies I thought it was very topical and Mums would treasure these. There was another with hand made baubles too, most of them lovingly squiffy but I could only vote for one. The Rainbow guides did a super one with caterpillars and butterflies but the Peppa Pig one was a bit disturbing especially as a tree topper.
The Adult ones included two with lovely hand made hearts on but they didn't photograph very well (operator failure).
This is the one I voted for in the adult section as I found it very moving, pictures of members of the Armed Forces lost in recent conflicts, with their names on, made me think how Christmas would be for their families. It was made by the Hospice. The label said WW1, but they were recent pics on the tree, a bit confusing so I asked if they could put up a card of explanation with each tree next year.

Re: Tree Festival
I think the tree festival is a lovely idea: think we have one round here somewhere. It's great that they get so many entries, too. Thanks for putting up the pictures, Karelyn.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, just like they should be.

Re: Tree Festival
Lovely. St Patricks at the end of our road did one the first year we were here, not nothing since: shame really.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: Tree Festival
