This one's a bit like a traditional sampler: done on natural linen, mounted, then backed onto some left-over curtain fabric which has been padded and laced on a board.

Another lovely one, like the finishing touch with the cord.
I used to love stitching on linen but the eyes wouldn't like it now!

Have to say that mine aren't too keen, Di - the ornament I'm doing at the moment is on linen, although it's white so not too bad to see.
