Post by Guest Tue 13 Jan 2009 - 21:37

Just spent a fruitless afternoon in my craft room, admittedly it's the first time I've been in there since we got back. Shuffled bits of paper and card around, looking at ink pads and stamps didn't achieve anything either.

Any ideas on how to get started again – I did have a look at some mags when I was in the UK but nothing very inspiring there either.

Found the best way is to have something which I have to do, thats why the atc swaps are good - have to get yourself sorted every month! Find I then make cards or a scrapbook page once I know the atcs are ready to post and I have got into the swing lol.

Oh, yeah. Been there, Maureen. It's a bummer isn't it?

I often find that even if something isn't very inspiring it often leads to something else if you start.

You could also look in our 'classroom'. There's some tutes in there for little books and things that could get you started too. Mr Green

At the moment, I have absolutely no desire to craft at all. Crying or Very sad

I'm going to a crop in Aberdeen with Kerry on 24th Jan, then another crop in Fraserburgh in Feb, so hopefully, that will kick-start my mojo again.

Thanks for all the hints - I'll have a look around, unfortunately now that I'm not working new stuff is not an option at the moment Sad. Mind you I do have a mountain of it to get through so can't use that for an excuse Rolling Eyes.

Thanks again

Do you make atcs? If you would like to join a swap Teabag organises the Fuller swap (people other than here involved too) and an alphabet swap. Details on the forum if you go down to Craft Forum swaps. A few of us join in each month. There is also a monthly swap for just the people on here which Lou organises.

Laughing Hard Nice one, Maria. Can always rely on you. Wink

Maureen, where you live isn't a problem, hun. As long as nothing huge and too expensive is involved, I'm sure we'd post to you. The only thing that stops you joining at the mo is your post count. See the rules at the top of index page and you'll soon be able to join in with us.

Well Belgium / France are both still gonna be same sort of postage so no reason you can't join in when the time is right Maureen. Welcome by the way, I've not been around too much recently and like you and Bobs have no inspiration to craft at all. I badly need to tidy up my crafty corner from the xmas stuff but I want to make some xmas cards to put away. Its just so cold up here I tend to put it off. Though I do have tomorrow to myself, might just put heating on all day and spend the day up here and sort.

I find that magazines and galleries help me a lot. I might not have the stuff they are using, but can adapt with what I do have. There are some fantastic cards on this site, one or two really inspirational people out there Wink you know who you are !!!!

I find that sorting my craft stuff out helps although I do get inspiration
from magazines/internet. I find I work better if I have named things to do. If I have free
time with nothing urgent to do, I tend to dither a bit and before I know it the morning
or afternoon has gone.
