Re: Who needs to go abroad?
Lucky you, so much soft sand, is that tide in or out.
I ask cos where I grew up when the tide was in it was right up to the sea wall or promenade as the posh lot called it. It was built to try to stop the cliff and car park from being eaten up. Stones for a bit then hard sand.

Looks lovely. Lucky you to be living near that.
Have never been abroad, always been quite happy with what we have over here.

What time of the day were they taken, or did you take out all the people, lovely beach, I think in the long distance of time I was on that beach once.

Re: Who needs to go abroad?
Sorry Maria, but I did take the piccy because of course the weather's not always that lovely.
It was lunch time and it's not the busiest end of the beach, it's directly below the school where I work there are beach huts behind, there was a lady behind me on the prom (I must be half posh) and a couple to the right about 50 yds away. Most people go about 100yds further down where the lifeguards and pier are.
It's a completely natural pic, nothing added or taken away, there were a few people around but stacks of room, it'll be a very different picture on air show day there won't be a space for miles, and it does get busier in the hols, DS was down there today with some mates.
It is clean we've usually got flag awards, there was an elderly lady who'd just had a dip.
I live about 4 miles down the road where we have pebbles too and the sand moves from year to year, to my shame I haven't been down there this summer yet, I'll send a pic when I do, my house is just over a mile inland from the beach, but my brother is nearer.
I didn't get down there today as it was quite windy which can make it chilly.
The tide doesn't move far, I think that was in, I didn't walk to the shore line, I sometimes have a paddle but not this time. It's only about 15' difference, a slight bank underfoot which can catch people out, we did have someone drown last year when they got swept out.

Re: Who needs to go abroad?
You're all welcome, I'll get the kettle on and bake something nice. Give me a bit of notice though if you want to see the craft room, it's always in a state of creativity in progress. Sometimes I have to be quite creative to get myself out of there.
I'll take some more pics over the summer Goaty, unless of course, that was it.

Re: Who needs to go abroad?
That is so pretty! It sounds like an ideal location to be near the beach.
