Re: St Petersburg Chain
Oooo I love them all, hoping to be able to have a go in next few days. If I didn't feel so fuzzy today I'd have a go. Weekend taken up and Monday no idea what the family have planned for me. so must get a go. I love all the colours.

Re: St Petersburg Chain
Very different - I've noticed the trend is very chunky necklaces.
These are amazing. I would be pushed to choose a favourite although
I suppose the b&w would go with anything.

I did it, yeah!!! But Carol what size beads did you use and what did you use to thread it. I used size 11 beads as per the instructions and it seems so much smaller in beads than yours. Also I used the white Nymo I have and it felt a bit insecure.

Re: St Petersburg Chain
Karin - I think you have done a great job for your first attempt! Dont be so hard on yourself!
The important thing to remember is each drop bead (or seed bead on the turn) you add you must pull tight.
I used fireline as the thread as i find it stiffer than the beading thread, and size 9'0s gutterman's for the first one (pale blue) and the last one (reds and pinks) For the other two i used 8'0s. I wanted a bit more chunk to them after i made the first lot of ones without drops.
Have another go i bet you will be suprised how you get on. I have been whipping them up in about 40mins they are so quick to make! I love them lol.
If you need anymore help, just shout.

Re: St Petersburg Chain
thanks hun, am going to have a go with the larger beads and black nymo as it seems to be a bit thicker than the white I have. Not got fireline but may just have to invest in it. Is it same sort of thickness as nymo, will I need new needles too

Re: St Petersburg Chain
They're lovely! I'd be hard pushed to choose, but the turquoise one really catches my eye!

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Its braided fishing line hun, makes your beadwork much stiffer than with the beading threads nymo, C-lon, or K.O. I love it, thats what i mainly use now lol. The great news is that i live 2doors away from the local fishing tackle shop, so if i run out i can get some fast!
