Interesting timings as I reckon on being just over an hour away from Helen, I think I must have underestimated that, that might be my halfway stop for a comfort break and a stroll round a car park.

for the first canny weekend i was there first as it was 3 hour drive and got there early. but this time we'll be the last ones there. it will feel strange as i'm usually the first at places. except here. the person that picks me up for craft night (not tina) always leaves her place at 6:45 and gets here near 7 and class is supposed to start at 7.

anyway, y'all have a good time partying before we get there but not too much.

aww thats lovley Kim.... so what speed does Patty have to drive at to do that? have you factored in us stopping for a hot choc and a teacake?

at you maria , thats just the time that multimap says ,i think its with doing within speed limits and no breaks so you have to go straight there and no teacakes or hot chocolate allowed !

Oh My two and half hours, didn't realise it was that long. eek !!

I don't have a working sat nav so I am going to have to memorise it before I get in the car. Thou in the past I have used post it notes to guide me with single instructions on and then tear and put on seat once that bits done.

I doubt I will top, but I do think I am going to set off early, I really hate driving at the best of times. Martin will have to do bigt checks on car for me before hand

Well my SatNav tells me it is going to take me 2 hrs 20 mins but that means only going at about 50 mph ... can't be doing that slow!! I am driving to Chester for a retreat in February which is a lot further away, but I love driving alone - oops! Forgot - will have that daughter with me who will be hissing and drawing her breath every time I go round a roundabout (when she thinks I am going the wrong way!!!! ) I keep pointing out to her that I have now been driving for 54 years, so have got the hang of it now!!!

I think she's mostly nervous because, of course, she is sitting on the "wrong" side of the car after being in France for so long. She always thinks I am going to hit the kerb!!!

put a gag in her mouth and a blind fold on then patty , that will stop it .or put her in the boot and your stash on the seat at side of you !

dawn ,our time is just over 1 hour ,cant remember exactly now .but then we could stop at a little chef for a toasted teacake and coffee again

Now I was just going to say I am only nervous because mum veers towards the kerb all the time. To be honest I hate driving and am just darn grateful to be driven there, mum is very good about it and always driving me around when Im home. If I let her go at 70 rather than 50, that will give us time for the hot choc and teacake (mind you, i would be a nervous wreck - there is so much blooming traffic on the roads in the Uk now, I dont know how ANYONE drives).

Don't know if anyone has already mentioned this, but the postcode reminder at the bottom of post 1 is wrong. I was trying to get map sorted through multimap and it keeps saying, no results.

So decided to check against my printout copy of booking confimation and the very last digit is different.

yes I know I'm doing this early, but as I am travelling on own I want to keep looking at map over time and by the date hopefully will have memorised it

i had a telephone call yesterday from the hospital. the pre op appointment is set for march 16, they don't have a date for surgery yet. it looks like i won't find that out until the appointment. the person on the phone did say it will probably be in april but i will try to get it after the craft weekend. if this is too late kim please let me know. i'm sorry i can't know sooner. i'm willing to send my money even though i don't know for sure if i'm going.

jane dont worry just let me as soon as you possibly can . everyone has paid the highest price so i will not be short if you dont go anywayand if you do make it then we have some money towards lunches or a refund to look forward to .
