Triple Embossing Question
May play around with this technique tomorrow, but I wanna know can you triple emboss on bog standard card or do you really need something a bit sturdier?
Re: Triple Embossing Question
Yes, you can, Kate. Sturdier is better, but I've done it many times on ordinary card.
It can curl sometimes, so be careful it doesn't crack.
If you have some removable tape, stick it to something else first.

Re: Triple Embossing Question
do not heat it on your cutting mat otherwise you'll ruin it. i've done triple on standard cardstock no probs.

Thanks for mentioning that Jane because I probably would of done luckily i have 2 cutting mats, one which is just so damaged from everything I've done to it so will be perfect for triple embossing
Re: Triple Embossing Question
another top tip KT - put unused embossing powder away and the lid on the pot before you get the heat gun out or you will lose the whole lot if it gets heated.

shaken and stirred but still standing (most of the time)
Re: Triple Embossing Question
Well had one quick go at triple embossing and have had to stop... All my embossing powder is glittery and thats not the effect I want (Dont snigger Lou... lol)
Anyway recommend a good cheap place to get clear thick embossing powder?

Re: Triple Embossing Question
You don't have to get the thick, you can use normal stuff and layer up until you're happy with the effect.

Re: Triple Embossing Question
Must have more of a go at doing this too as haven't quite mastered it.
Kate I have a glass cutting board that I got from the poundshop when using my heatgun.

Re: Triple Embossing Question
Ooooooooo glass cutting board, never thought of that. Possibly because they scare me & set my teeth on edge when being chopped on, but good idea
Was playing yesterday, dont know whether it was the powder or the stamp, but I couldn't get a very good impression of the stamp when I stamped it in the heated embossing powder?

Re: Triple Embossing Question
when you stamp into the heated embossing powder you need to make sure it is still hot and that you have ink on your stamp.
press stamp into embossed area then let it set for a few seconds then remove it. give that a try.
i do pretty good with it.
