Re: marias October challenge
Those are lovely Maria, I especially like the gold square happy birthday! How have you done that? Stamped on? Though it looks embossed into the square?
Re: marias October challenge
well its weird the way it looks Kt, but the square is actually a riased up chipbaord frame with gold acrylic paint on it, and underneath is a square of green paper with a HB peel off on it but on the pic it looks the other way round!!!
see, Im an illusionist!

I did reply to this but then it threw me off and my posting. Gggrrrr - good
job is wasn't a long one.
Like the top one best Maria but the second one would be excellent for a
male birthday.
See - you say you can't make cards and then you go and prove
yourself wrong

Re: marias October challenge
oh cripes, the 18 one is for a girl..... does it look too masculine then?

Re: marias October challenge
I don't know why you don't like cardmaking, Maria - you seem to have the gift for it. These are lovely!
Whereas I agree with Steph that the 18 one would be great for a boy, there's nothing wrong with giving it to a girl - I would appreciate it, because I like stylish cards.
Probably appreciate it more if I could be 18 again!

I really like those, Maria.
The top one is a great adaptation of the sketch.

Re: marias October challenge
Whoops - sorry Maria - I just associate those colours with males. For a female
I think it needs something feminine - just MHO

Re: marias October challenge
Well, I was a girl and I like it, how about a small gem instead of a flower if you want to girly it up a bit. Where the bit under the long strip ends and on top of the long strip, what on earth does that mean? I know what I mean.

Re: marias October challenge
Great cards Mia - and Lorraine, this was a super sketch this month because it was easy to, easy to adapt and I can see a use for it in loads of things ... especially the dratted C----- cards!! Nice and simple, but very stylish. Thanks.

Re: marias October challenge
great cards maria and nice change to see some from you . must agree with steph though the 18 one is a bit manly ,i think it needs some pretty coloured gems around the scalloped circle and it will be good for a girl.

Re: marias October challenge
Gems or brads would be nice if it's for a female Maria. And you still
make better cards than you give yourself credit for.

Re: marias October challenge
I like the 18 one, looks like denim so would be fine for either male or female I think
Re: marias October challenge
Thanks girls, for the honesty. I will try and girly it up a bit.

Re: marias October challenge
Great cards, my fave is the second one, it would be good for a boy but the blue is lovely. If it was me I would add gems at every ten minutes from 12 round the 18 within the scallop, if you understand what I mean and I would add the same gems to the far right at the to and the bottom of the blue band
Re: marias October challenge
Both lovely cards Maria. If you add something to the 18 card we will need to see the finished result!

Re: marias October challenge
Well thanks for the precise instructions Ruth, that has improved it no end. am still wondering whether it needs a flower in betwwn the scallop and the end of the band? I put one there but couldnt decide so have taken it off again.

Re: marias October challenge
That looks good, Maria.
If you did put a flower on, best not to put it along the same plane as the 18 motif, as it would look a bit mannered if you know what I mean (that's a fine one, coming from Miss Symmetrical). Probably why you weren't sure whe you tried it. It would need to be offset in some way - maybe a small flower at the bottom right-hand corner of the black (or is it dark blue?) background papers. Wouldn't matter if the petals stuck out over the right-hand edge of the card or onto the "denim" mount.

I think the gems look great but I wouldn't add anything else.
