this is what ive been doing......

........while i have been resting my back ,i had a box of scrap papers and they were overflowing and driving me mad ,so i sat and punched out a load of shapes using my punches . Now i have loads of ready punched shapes to use on cards and to use to make flowers as per the red yellow black and white card i made

sorry the top one is blurred as usual . I have shown one of each punch ive used so you can see the different shapes as you can see i also did lots of hearts , leaves and swirls ,and a new one ive got and up to now not used very much of a scroll type thing

That's a good idea Kim, looks like you have a good selection there.
I cut a few nestie shapes out the other day, then the first card I wanted one for lo and behold didn't have one the right colour lol. Must do some more.

i think that may just happen a few times di , ive decided if i have not used them within a few months ,or used a lot of them , then i will send them to the local youth club who make cards . I often send a few bits to them so i know they will make good use of them

Now can you come do that to my scrap paper!

What a good idea, and how satisfying to have used so many bits, well sort of used them. This will come into it's own if you ever have to throw a card together in minutes, I know you're more organised than that, but it might happen LOL
Lusting after the little feathers and leaves, which dies/punches are they? are they coming on the retreat?

the leaves are 2 different punches one is martha stewart and the other is woodware the feathery one is ek success .
i can bring them to ther retreat but better still i can send you a few if you like

Really good idea, Kim - and don't they look fantastic all together! Be careful doing too much punching, though: that can put strain on your back as well.

You have been busy Kim . Nice big boxful.
I often do this with the clothes etc for the Sizzix dolls and the smaller bodies.
I have loads cut out if anyone wants any.
Good idea to have the shapes - very useful for matting smaller items.
I haven't got any punches of those sort except square and circle. Really
ought to widen my scope. Got lots of punches I never use.

lynda i did the punching with the punch upside down and using both hands to press , a bit slower but less pressure on the back .

If you're feeling generous Kim, I'd love a some green or brown leaves and a few white/cream feathers, thank you.

the feathers ,as you say are actually fern leaves ,it was not until you said feathers that i realised that they actually DO look like feathers . will get u some in the post asap

I love ferns too, either way I'll love them, maybe green then, who's going to know feathers-ferns, both yummy, thank you, what can I send you?

If you feathered the edges they would look more feathery than fernlike.
I often do that for animal fur, bird feathers etc. Can be effective.

what a brilliant idea.

I just punched out loads of normal squares from lots of scrap xmas bits for the workshop I did today, never occured to me to do that with scraps of paper cards etc., I have tonnes and they do so get on my nerves that I can't close the drawers. Well done on another excellent tip.
