Me !!!!!
Lily took this picture this afternoon of me at my craft desk, I wanted a picture for my twinchies, and I think this came out really well. She definately had it lined up ok and I don't look too 'huge' in it
Thought for those of you that haven't seen me, could now see what I look like.
And can say hi to you all anyway.

Oh, well done to Lily! Good 'photo, Karin: love the colour of your top. Like Patty, I didn't remember your hair as being quite that long when we saw you 2 years ago.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Re: Me !!!!!
My hair probably was shorter, I quite like it long like this, but it usually means it been 6 months plus without a hair cut and my fringe is too long. It will be shorter for the retreat, as I like it off the shoulder when I straighten it.
Steph hun, yes your envie arrived, I posted in the RAKs thread a day or so ago. Think its another of my posts thats being ousted from the list.
Goaty, anytime, she'd love it.

Re: Me !!!!!
I hate to state the obvious, but you know, sometimes the new posts go over onto two pages and I think some people miss the second page. I've done it myself before now.karinlouise wrote:

Meant to say, My hairs short again now. Just off the shoulder so more managable, and it seems to stay in shape for longer too. Going to colour it this weekend though.

Re: Me !!!!!
Right then, have hunted about like mad for the first mag I ever bought. Its from Bead magazine, and you can pay for subs online and get mag online. I'm going to do it after retreat. Its £10 for the year and you get it to your inbox and can view it as if you had the mag. They also have tv, but not sure on prices for that www.bead.tv
The stitch is square stitch. Really should have remembered that.
You thread a number of seed beads (as you like). My purple one is 10 I think, but have just started a 20 and after doing an inch am decreasing one bead either side on each row to get a penant shape.
Thread on 10 beads and then another bead and take your thread back through the 10th bead the same way you went originally (going in circles), then back through the 11th bead...this lines them up side by side (not hole to hole).
Pick up another bead (12th) and take thread back through 9th again same way thread went before, and then back through 12th.
Pick up another bead (13th) and take thread back through 8th.
Continue in same way until end.
To secure your work, and help straighten and tighten your beads, when youreach the end of a new row you can thread all the way through your previous row and the new row, before adding new beads as before.
I started just looping a knot at the end of the row and then take the thread back through the one I've just finished. Saves on thread, and still straightens it up. Plus when you have to add thread and tie off etc., you can go through the last two rows and knot so you have the thread at the right place. Thats what I do anyway. Does that all make sense. Hope so
