If a gift bag you have been given is still in good shape, use this trick to re-instate the gift tag that the giver has written on.

Carefully undo the knot in the handle, nearest to the gift tag, and slip it out through the hole in the bag and the tag.

Glue a piece of thinnish white card to the reverse of the tag. It's usually best if you use a larger piece than the tag, then you can trim it when it's dry (if you're using scissors, keep the upper blade close against the edge of the tag for a close cut).

Slip the tag back onto the cord handle, the handle into the bag and knot the cord again.

Lynda, I keep all gift bags that I can and even bought a huge plastic folder, it is especially for this purpose, it has separators so you can file them according to size or occaision.

I also did a quick iron of the wrapping paper which thrifty sent my secret santa in...lol hubby was amused when he asked if i was ok? i dont do much ironing..he just shook his head when he saw me iron the paper lol I did also iron a cardigan that i had washed, marie left it here and it has also lost a button so that needs sewing on...hubby asked if i was doing any sewing for craft purposes soon...I think he hopes the cardigan will eventually be returned to marie lol sarky sausage he is.... Very Happy

LOL was it the pink stuff? I did like that, even though it's not what I'd call a Christmas colour.

LOL at Suzy. Sounds like my house.

I decorated some sturdy bags with old Christmas cards and
sentiments - they turned out good - to put the boys pressies
in. The kids needed bigger bags so I actually paid for them.

You can also use the posh bags you get in some shops: find a used card (the ones that just have a huge Merry Christmas on them and nothing else often work a treat) or some paper to cover up the shop's name. Have done some really nice ones like that.

Yep - that's what I used - not that I shop at posh shops !!
I had two really nice strong bags from the day I was invited to
QVC - they were our goody bags.
