Turkish Delight trifle
By popular demand. Have given amounts as stated: I never bother, myself with something like this.
175g jam Swiss roll
100ml liqueur (they used Framboise)
600g strawberries or raspberries
200g Turkish delight
500g fresh custard (who makes custard in grams?)
350ml double cream
50g plain chocolate
You all know how to make trifle, so I won't tell you things like "cut the Swiss roll into slices".
Swiss roll at bottom
Sprinkle liqueur over
Two-thirds of fruit over Swiss roll
Cut Turkish delight into thick slices and scatter over fruit
Custard on top
Whip cream and spread over custard
Remaining fruit on top
Use a vegetable peeler to make chocolate shavings and sprinkle on top
I used Madeira cake; a mix of blueberries, cranberries, and blackberries and raspberries from the freezer. I made a pint of custard and that seemed about right. I put all the fruit on top of the cake, so my chocolate shavings went on the cream, together with some edible glitter (left over from best friend's 60th cake).
It was yummy!

Re: Turkish Delight trifle
I assume that is 'proper' turkish delight and not chocolate covered, Lynda? lol.
Sounds well good though. Could gain a couple of pounds just reading the recipe, lol.

Re: Turkish Delight trifle
Yes, Lorraine: no chocolate. But I suppose some would fancy it as an added ingredient!
