Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
Think I know what you mean about not being sure, Lorraine, but I'm not sure either. Could it be that the three textures from bottom right upwards seem almost to be in a line and the eye is drawn to them? Or the top left-hand quarter - as it looks on here - is overall darker than the rest so the differing shades don't show up like they do elsewhere? I hope you don't mind me commenting.
You could probably chuck some more colour and textures at it.

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
i love the whole of the bottom half of it but the top looks a little iffy , dont know what it is about it but i think its cos the different textures have no way of making connection with the next one whereas the bottom ones do connect or blend in with one another

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
I just love it .... wait till Mia sees it - she will rave about it, I know! Wonder how she got on this week? It's the first time in years that we have had absolutely no contact for a whole week and I have missed her very badly!

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
I think it doesn't flow either. I like the bottom but the top is missing something. Hmmmm, will have to see.
Glad you like it though Patty, lol.

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
Love the bottom section. The top looks like its lacking a combination colour or maybe a very soft net over a small area or dyed cotton lace to bring in the cream/yellow hues similar to the base.
Have you thought of adding any delicate text or soft thin straight paint lines near the top textured area in a colour used on the base ? This might help tie everything in together .

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
I like it, a lot, but agree needs a certain something. Something to make a visual triangle perhaps?

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
I like it, but I think the top looks heavier (colour and texture), what does it look like 'upside down'?

I've slapped a load more gesso on it, so will see how it ends up this time, lol.

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
Ooooh, who's been cloning then? lol.
That looks better doesn't it. That's where I've added more gesso and a bit on the right hand side too. Hopefully it'll look something like that when I've finished.

lol nothing so sophisticated; cutting and pasting.
It'll look much better than that when you've played again.

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
Yes - that's definitely more together, Lorraine. The eye isn't drawn to a particular bit that seems to take precedence over the others, like it did before. Really zings now.

Re: Abstract Texture Canvas
I love the colours, the texture isn't for me unless there's a picture within it, or something larger to focus on but the colours are amazing
