Knitters please help
I hope one of you can tell me what I am doing wrong, the pattern is quite simple,
K2 YO K2tog through back of loops continue to end,
P2 YO P2tog continue to end,
I have tried this 4 times now and when I manage to finish a couple of rows I have 2 or 4 extra stitches, I always thought that on the knit row it is yarn under, the 4th time I did it I did a couple of row in K and P, I am using a double knit wool, (a very fine one) and size 4 needle, so please can anyone help, thank you.

Re: Knitters please help
Bit hard to say Billie, need to have some needles and have a go but don't have any to hand - maybe Kim has hers near by and could have a go.
You obviously should be making a stitch by putting wool over needle and then losing one by knitting/purling together next two together so somewhere this is going wrong.

Re: Knitters please help
Billie, when you put yarn over on a knit row, you have to wrap the wool around the needle, it's only on a pearl row where it actually will just go over the needle. (might be the other way round...hard to knit in my head, lol).
That's often where people go wrong, so it may be that.

Re: Knitters please help
depending on the pattern you may end up with a couple of stitches til you do another row later in the pattern and then you lose it , is it a lacy pattern ? you might be making a hole in the lace pattern

Re: Knitters please help
Gosh, I haven't knitted for years.
My mum was a huge knitter and my sister is a good dressmaker,
but I'd rather work with card and glue.
