Re: Decorated wooden heart
Thanks for turning it round, Lorraine.
And thanks for all your nice comments, girls. They are gorgeous papers for a vintage look: just a bit of Brush Corduroy round the edges was all that was needed. Used two of the brads from the brad set to make the two embellishments, copying a couple of other items on the brad set, and put the teeny-tiny ric-rac across the joins.
Would like to have done some more as gifts, but someone has obviously bought up all CBs had, probably to decorate and sell.

Re: Decorated wooden heart
Lynda you could do that in chipboard by tracing round it.

Re: Decorated wooden heart
or use your Cricut to cut 5 or 6 shapes and glue them together to make faux chipboard (assuming you have a cartridge with a folk heart shape). I've done that for letters and it works really well because the Cricut is so accurate.Scatty wrote:Lynda you could do that in chipboard by tracing round it.

Re: Decorated wooden heart
Am planning to trace round it before it goes anywhere, Alison! Don't think I have a folk heart on the (only) three Cricut cartridges that I have, Tina, otherwise would do the trick with sticking several layers together - although could do that with tracing and cutting out: surprising how neat you can make it if you sand the edges. Have looked for other folk hearts, but none of them seems as long and thin as this one.
The 'Joy to the World' is from a set of clear stamps I just acquired, Karelyn: some really nice ones on it, including several lines from carols.

Re: Decorated wooden heart
That's why you need a Robo or Cameo..you're not limited to cartridges.

Re: Decorated wooden heart
Might have to wait for my 70th (Cricut bought with money gifts when I was 60) before I could afford a Cameo or Robo, Lorraine!
