Recommend a cutter please?
My beloved Creative Memories 12" cutter has finally blunted it's last blade; I stocked up on them when I knew they were going to discontinue it. Am having problems with my hands, so knife cutting is a bit inaccurate at the moment; so, I need recommendations for a nice new paper cutter please?
Needs to cut 12" both ways; the old one had a swing-out measuring bit. Preferably lightweight, but most important is accuracy.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: Recommend a cutter please?
hmm, Ive got the same problem getting blades. Ive got a super xcut cutter but its a guiletine (sp) type and onbly 8 inches. It cuts much straighter than any of my cutters ever have though.
I know two people who recommend the 'purple cow' one but havent tried it myself.

Ruth will love me for saying this, but a lot of people recommend the Stampin' Up cutter!

If it's good I'd happily invest; did reply to Ruth's SU thread a few days ago asking about postage etc........

Can't help you there, I'm afraid, Tina: my paper trimmer is nearly 24 years old! It's a Dahle, and I love it - even though the measurements have completely rubbed off on the left hand edge. Unfortunately, they stopped making the models that were current when we bought this and I don't know whether the ones for sale now are as good.

If you find one, let me know. I've got 3 here and they all cut skewiff. Grrrrrrr.

Mine's OK on the left, where there's no markings, but on the right it cuts on the skew.

Re: Recommend a cutter please?
I am so lame with checking threads, yes the SU trimmer is very good but it's a bit heavy on the blades and won't cut chipboard even the fairly thin sort. The only other one that I've found cuts straight is the Tonic Studios one but again I got through blades using that two. However you do know have the option of having both a rotary trimmer and the normal blade on the SU trimmer and people speak highly of that too.
Re: Recommend a cutter please?
I tend to cut chipboard with a craft knife anyway, so that wouldn't be an issue. Have looked at various cutters and their reviews on Amazon, and none of them get great ratings, so SU it is.

Re: Recommend a cutter please?
Well, my stampin' up stuff arrived today, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the cutter. Not too heavy, nice and stable, and most importantly, deadly accurate! Def worth the money
