A novelty
Yes a novelty it is, me posting in the gardening section, for some bizarre reason I seem to be able to grow lilies, don't forget I don't have green fingers more like instant death fingers to all things plantlike. I have yellow lilies on my doorstep.
I also have a clematis which despite my best efforts (ie. left and forgotten about) produced this beauty

Re: A novelty
Well done on keeping something alive, Ruth! Love how you've caught the bee on the lily.

Re: A novelty
Lovely Lily, I like them too. Good photo.
The Clematis looks similar to one I have in the back garden, gets little attention but is a good show every year.

Re: A novelty
I have some other flowers, couldn't tell you what they were, on bush type things. I need to plant more flowery bushes in the garden. I have a new bed on the side of the patio and once my neighbour has changed the fence panel I will be putting in two clematis and some rose bushes, rose bushes might dissuade Makoto to stop pooing there. I will plant lilies throughout the garden next year and see how I go, they've only ever been in pots before. I don't know if they only come up once or whether they will come back next year. I also have some geraniums (? maybe) on the other side of the front doorstep. They bloomed from this time last year until January and have been in flower for at least a month.
I didn't split it last year/ this year but will do once it stops flowering and then put that in the back garden. I bought two last year but only this one flowered.

Re: A novelty
Your lilies will come back each year as long as the bulbs don't rot. Best to lift them at the end of the summer and then replant in March time. Same with Dahlia tubers, although I must admit, I always leave mine in.
That geranium is lovely.
