Alphabet blanket
Drum roll please, at long last the knitted blanket is done, I noticed after I'd put it on facebook that the van is facing the wrong way, I didn't think of it's position on the blanket when I sketched it out (should have been violin), a couple of other tweaks, jelly is jigsaw in the original, yacht is yawn, g and U were something else too.
The centre panel is for the child's name and the last square is for signing. I'll back it with a fleece.
Evan's birthday card, inside it says, of course you do, nerd!

Re: Alphabet blanket
I'd rather give it to whoever wants it for their kid, preferably Jake as it was originally intended for him, but I don't mind, if they don't want it, I could keep it here and just put something like 'snuggle' in the name place. Now I've started patchwork they might get quilts instead, as long as I can get it right that is. The little one I'm doing is super, little embroidered toadstool houses and the fabrics are soft blues/browns, but it's also available in brights, I could do it again if I enjoy it that much and it's still available, or make up my own kit.

Re: Alphabet blanket
Well done on finally finishing the blanket, Karelyn! Actually prefer 'van' to 'violin' - much more likely for the child to have seen one! Love the card, too.

Re: Alphabet blanket
Great blanket must have been really hard work, did you do each square separately.

Re: Alphabet blanket
Yes Billie, so it's quite portable and easy to finish, if you actually do it that is LOL Each square can be done in an evening, but of course I had done up to Giraffe I think then put it away, then I lost my knitting bag halfway up toadstool so had to start that again once I'd got hold of the pattern and more red wool. The idea was to use up scraps, but that doesn't seem to have happened.
I was reminded today that xylophones are wooden and glockenspiels are metal, so that's wrong too, unless of course it's grey wood. Oh dear, lol.

That's great Karelyn. Thinking of doing some cushion covers with the wool I started my crochet quilt with ad can't see me finishing that.
