Very pleased to be getting somewhere with this crochet malarkey, I’m actually finding it easier than knitting.

At some point I need to master written instructions, but until then there’s always You Tube, which is how I made this. Ridiculously simple once you know how

I have made Molly a couple of cotton face scrubbies to trial, in an attempt to cut down on her cotton pad makeup remover useage.
Next up, some mini baskets to hold chocolate eggs, if they work they’ll go in the shop window. After that Molly would like an avocado cushion!

That's great Tina. I tried crochet by using Youtube and buying a magazine. Think I was a bit too ambitious though as made hexagons for a blanket , did manage several of them but they are still sitting in a bag with all the wool. Does grow quicker than knitting though.

Looks good, Tina, and very even, too. Never mastered crochet myself, although that might be because a friend who is left-handed tried to teach me!

Thanks all Embarassed

If anyone wants to have a look at some really good You Tube channels, I would highly recommend the Crochet Crowd for absolute basics, including how to hold the hook, and why (but bear in mind he is american so uses their stitch names). Once you've done that bit, Bella Coco is a british site with loads of video tutorials.

Looks fab. I would much rather crochet than knit. It's much quicker.

I brought crochet with me as I'd have no choice but to get it done. First time I've tried to make something to a pattern, not quite got it as the number of stitches I have has fluctuated and my tension is, er variable. I don't think I'm up to something fitted like a hat yet, well done to you, impressive. It does grow quicker than knitting but I do have to look at it, unlike knitting so I can't crochet and watch TV properly yet.
I've done a few little things from YouTube flowers and poppies. It is good isn't it, you can stop the video, do the stitch then continue. There are also left handed ones which is good if you are.
I wonder if I'll get brave enough to try a hat when I finally finish my shawl. So annoying that you can't take knitting/crochet in hand luggage.
