for the first time since ive been ill iive finally feel capable to begin to lose weight its not easy!!i had something happen that hit me emotionally during july/august and also had flu like bug too which both ended up me losing 1 stone in first month!!i wish i coul;d say it wd carry on that quickly some months now im losing say 2ibs which is all i lost last time i went to nurse i go once a month,but even that 2ibs lost me an ninch of my waist.
anyway so far my total is 21ibs in about 3/4 months its one of my main aims over next year,its tough even when i get into routine like i had this week here i havnt had alot of going out so ive been able to get on exercise bike 4 days in a row but then last few days ive been run down and knew i couldnt.
i dont feel any different yet but if i can lose another stone or more in next year ill be really glad.
im not eating between meals,i went cold turkey on my addiction to tescos finest choc chip cookies!!!and weekdays im trying to have cerial for breakfast then a chili con carne wuth rice and bread and butter early or mid afternoon then thats it its enough for me for rest of day then.
but its coming of soooo slowly!!! No Sleepy

Richard, from one who is trying to lose wight to another, well done on your weight loss.!! That said, if you are eating that little, your body will go into 'starvation mode' and hold onto any 'reserves' even harder. The thing with weight loss is that you do need to eat little and often, to keep your body's metabolism going. I did WW, and when I didn't use up my 'allowance', I didn't lose weight.

(I know all of this in theory of course, it's putting it into practise that makes the difference!).

Best wishes to both of you on this. Remeber how long it takes to put it on too, it doesn't go on overnight, so it doesn't come off overnight either. It does seem like it goes on much quicker I must admit, but stick with it.

Well done, Richard! As Karin says, though: it takes time to take the weight off and you shouldn't rush it. And don't forget to keep up your five-a-day as well, especially when watching your weight: less food means less for the system to process and so you need to make sure the other parts of your body function properly, shall we say!

yey someone told me bout that few months ago,its a shame though that first month when i wasnt eating much i lost the stone!!!but i do eat reguley now to keep metabalism ticking over!!Lol!!
i went 3 days without eating anything couldnt believe i cd ever do that just had no real apertite but its back now.x

hi girls,
good news lost another 5Ibs last month!!
strange thing is i only lost 2Ibs last month but lost an inch of my waist this month i lost 5Ib but none of my waist.
im going to go back on tablets to help me too as ive now been off them for 6 months i can take them again,
im already worrying about christmas!!!i dont mind if i put on say 2ibs over christmas but well see i think i may be alright its not lilke ill be desperately trying to avoid everything!!!i will allow myself to eat everything pretty much but will hopefully stick to similar intake to what i have now plus the odd mince pie!!lol!!
so in total ive lost 26Ibs it doesnt feel like it mind you some days it does some days it doesnt but i reckon i have at least 2 more stone to go but more would be good.

I have piled on so much weight over the last year.... I know depression, and the meds I have been taking, and the rather poorly back don't help.....
Good on you Rich mate! I was sat looking at my beloved pilates machine today.... and it seemed to be begging for me to get it out. May have a try tomorrow, although, a having some quite bad withdrawal symptoms from coming off the anti-d's!
I don't like the fact that I seem to be getting out of breath just walking down the street, when a year ago I could easilly walk 6 miles without even blinking!

hi girls
i have some gr8 personal news i went to docs yesterday and to see nurse and ive lost 6ibs!!!!!!!!!and 2 inches of my waist,i was really overwelmed yesterday and in tears god knows ive been trying so hard and i have had two or three months of losing nothing and was sure it would be the same again this time i dont know how ive done it.im so thankfull to god though his the one who has changed my desires as to what i eat ect.
i was wondering what more i could have done and was afraid id have to stop eating my favourate non sweet food fresh bread!!!
im so so happy about it i literally jumped up and down a little bit when the nurse told me!!!

i do still have alot more to go,but its just so encouraging for me.
the main things ive done is not eating between meals and i no longer have a private stash of chocolates and cookies ect!!but i am also on tablets to help me to lose weight aswell though i did lose alot of it when i wasnt on them.
oh and i dont drink a pint of milk with my breakfast anymore either so just have milk in cerial and hot drinks now and im already on skimmed milk anyway,

Super news from you Richard, it is inspiring to hear of other folks success stories on the forum. I hate to hear friends who are really slim bragging about losing weight that they can ill afford to lose.
I am really going to try but seems an uphill struggle at times. usually when i am overtired or bored.

i probably want to lose another 1&stone i think not sure what i need to reach my ideal but i will hopefully look normal again i think then,when i say normal im only going by my own perception of myself in comparison to how i looked before i got ill.
and how i feel about myself.
ive just bought 3 tops yesterday that are large!!!and so far one im wearing fits great!!!

yep at moment trousers are ok with a belt though i have to pull them up a fair bit.
but i have alot of inches to lose so edventually will need a whole new wardrobe of trousers alone hoopefully!!
