No way I wanted to go over the date again...........seem to be donig that a lot lately and really hate how it makes me look. I hate being late. I always arrive anywhere 15 mins early just in case.

I think you and her and possibly Steph were discussing it on incidental, so she then went off and did it! LOL Will have words with her, she needs to get her booty back on her anyway!
Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Lynda and Karin, yours are here, girls. Lynda, don't know what you were worried about...again, and Karin, not seen that technique for an age, nice one, hun.
Just waiting for Kate, Lindy, Emma and Goaty now.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Mine has been posted, i had to get it weighed and measured, was going to chance a large letter stamp, good job i didnt..it cost loads more than that!!! it was only that i had a letter thru door to say a package had been under post by only 10p and it cost £1.10 to retrieve it..it was a single birthday card, and was delayed by a week.!!! what a nerve.
I did give my brother hell..i have told him to always get things weighed..he said its a card that cost less than £1, it looks lovely and the verse was lovely so i soon forgave him...until....he laughed like an idiot at me having to pay so much...grr, i am definately going to get my own back lol

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Yes Goaty, I would be simply horrified if I thought one of my friends had had to pay to receive a card I sent. Worse still, whilst I was at my brother's, his son had sent him a letter and you could clearly see that there HAD been a stamp on it which had been ripped off! Paul had to pay the £1.32 to get the letter and his son was mortified!!

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
I had one the other day with two ATCs in it and it was short postage
by 19p and we had to pay £1.19 to get it.

They're all here...and only 1 of you forgot the postage.
I'll get 'em sorted and back out to you. There's some crackers there is.

Thank you Maria - I feel honoured.
When I was looking through I was trying to take in all the different
things we had all used. It really is amazing what you can recycle when you
put your mind to it
Thanks for running the swap as always Lorraine.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Bearing in mind how well everyone did in this, maybe those of us who major on recycled bits (I know Karely does, as well as me) can persuade the rest of you to use more recycled stuff in future. Apart from helping the planet, it also saves you money: not that I'm encouraging you to spend less on craft stuff, but it does free up money to buy the more expensive goodies!
Think I forgot to say thanks to Lorraine for organising this swap.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
I must admit its rare that I throw something (or recycle bin) without first thinking 'do I need this at all'.
Ribbons, even cracker tubes have been recycled. have a box of stuff but I forget to look in it. Might have to dig it back out.
And yes big thanks for me too Lorraine, as always you are a star for doing this.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
I have always reused what I could, and as I have said, this year
I am determined to buy less and use what I already have.
I love collage and am happy to make cards like that. It's such
good fun as well, making something out of something broken or old.

Your birthday card from me was made from recycled things, did you realise?

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

[quote="Scrap MonkeyYour birthday card from me was made from recycled things, did you realise? [/quote]
I'm very proud of you, Tina - but no, I didn't realise. I knew that Karelyn's was, as she announced it (with a list of all that she used) on the back!
I know all of us collect stuff that would otherwise be put in the bin, but it's actually using it that's the trick. This swap has made everyone rummage around for four things to use - although several of us used everything recycled, I think - and that's the trick to using it rather than keeping it in a box and occasionally remembering to fish something out. Another good way to do it is to start with a piece of recycled stuff and build your project around it. I have to admit it takes a lot longer, though - so much easier to use a range of co-ordinated papers and embellishments!

Just got to say some of the toppers look amazing. I am surprised at how many of you have used old blinds! I haven't commented on each one at the moment as got to go!
Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Yes there were some great uses of recycled things and lots of ideas. Thanks Lorraine. Hope I didn't forget the postage as I know I got envelope weighed & asked for 2 of the same stamp.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Thank you, Lynda and Lorraine. Poppies one of my favourite flowers so really pleased. Never thought of using recycled card/paper for my backing paper (Doh!) which makes TOTAL sense now that I've seen it in action, Lynda, so keep us on our toes w/this recycling business - a penny saved and all that (is money for bright shiny sparkly stuff!)

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
Ok I'm probably asking a question that I should already know the answer to. Are we making a card and putting picture up with these, or is it for just for as and when card. not sure i want to make one with mine, want to stick it on wall as another swap item. I love putting them on show LOL

No, you don't have to make a card, Karin. It won't be any different from what we've seen already, lol.

Re: FEBRUARY 2011 - RECYCLE
If you make a card we would love to see it, but no obligation.
Lynda said she is keeping hers and I won't be making a card either.
It's all a matter of personal choice.
