Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Completely agree Lynda.
On other forums, there are rules about number of posts too, so that only people who post on a regular basis (and therefore stay in communication with the group) take part in swaps. Not sure we need to go that far, but between this and the CJ we aren't doing terribly well, and people have been let down.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
I think we all accept that there will be a couple of late posters
but not even to have them done is naughty. I have a list of what
I have to do for the month (love crossing things off it) and hate to
be late for anything, but then, I don't go to work so have most
days to do my crafting.

I'm not taking part in this one, but I'm glad I stuck my nose in, was just checking to see if pics were imminent really.
Some forums give you a swap rating too, so that you are marked on timing, quality etc
For more complicated/substantial swaps only those with a high rating are accepted. This is quite important if they are swaps where you post to the next person on the list etc, so no central person is involved. I was once the person who didn't get a swap having sent one myself (not here) and have been the repeated late receiver of a cj on a long ago UKS swap, would have been so bad if it wasn't a 2 week turn around, and no messages ever about them being late or even to let me know they were on the way. I did always get it sent on on the right day (even if it meant working into the small hours) as I couldn't bear to let someone else down. Not everyone puts the same priority on these things.
I decided to mark the closing date on my calendar a day or 2 previous to the actual date, so that I would get it done on time, as I was guilty of being late before.
I do think that we have an extremely good standard of swaps here and a good reputation all round, let's hope this is a temporary blip and we soon get back on track.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Yes, I put the closing date and posting date on my diary and calendar too, just to make sure (now I am at the age I am where people tell me I will forget more and more!!) though having complained on here I wouldn't DARE be late in future swaps. It does, though, (sorry to say this!) put me off joining in a bit.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
I also have a book with all my swaps in so I can easily keep track where they are going to and due date. I always post on the forums when they have been posted as nothing worse than waiting for the post to come.
Maybe people just need to be more organised.
Keep smiling Lorraine you do a great job running the swaps.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
We do have rules about posts and being a member for a certain amount of time, but I have dropped them for a few people as I hate to say no, lol. I don't think I'll do that in the future though.
We're such a small friendly group, that I don't want to enforce anything else, but I feel that we all do have enough time to get things done.
I'm guilty this month of not getting mine done.
I'll wait for Kim's but Kate isn't going to send hers so I'll get on and get them out then.

Lorraine, you have one of the excusable reasons for not getting it done on time, with all the toing and froing to the hospital's, with Your mum Aiden and Nic I think you are let off.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
I had to wait a month before I could join in on the swaps etc, I havnt missed one and the few I couldnt join in on due a busy month etc I made sure I just didnt sign up.
Mine was posted in time, just dont know why it didnt turn up until the Saturday, Lorraine you didnt have to pay for postage or anything did you? I posted through the post office too. I also sent three cards I had sold on ebay on the Wednesday too, and they only received them on the Friday, one needed the card for the Saturday too, I stayed up till early hours the Wednesday morning making the card as she bought it last minute, its a bloody good job it turned up, even though I had paid for first class. I may have to go to a different post office dont know what is going on with them.

Think you've had one or two things on your mind Lorraine. Anybody
in your position, eg family crisis, illness etc has to be understood
because real life sometimes gets in the way of crafting.

Aw, come off it girl ... anyone with a tenth of what you have had to put up with would have claimed an "excuse". Don't be daft!!! And anyway, you are organising it so still have a lot to do.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Seems a shame Kate and Lynda didn't send theirs in as we worked on them together when I was at Kate's a good few weeks back now. It was such an easy swap too.
Look forward to receiving mine when it arrives.

Erm - it wasn't Lynda, it must have been Lindy! Mine was the first one to arrive, just for a change.

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Oops sorry Lynda! We had a craft day at Kates a few weeks back and we had a go at making these mini books. I think kate and Lindy intended to have another go to see if they could make a better one. We all made a basic book though.
looking forward to the post man coming now

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
What's the matter with you girl - there is absolutely NO need for any kind of apology ... it doesn't matter at all if they were a tiny bit late - and it wasn't entirely all your doing anyway. Just thank you for doing it considering the circumstances silly goose! xxx

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Here's a question, girls: which would you prefer to happen to you?
(a) Your mother is rushed into hospital. Your daughter is taken to hospital. Your grandson has to have an operation. Your car has major problems and will cost a fortune to repair.
(b) Your mini-book arrives a bit late.
Answers on a postcard to Lorraine. Maybe she will get the message that we don't expect her to apologise!

Re: MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011
Any chance I could look at your Photobucket album so I can see the ones that don't come up for me, Lorraine?
Wish I knew why I can't upload my own 'photos to Photobucket: still getting the Upload Failed message from them.
