Garden Grove Quilt
Really enjoyed doing this. I know it's not quite straight in places and there are some corners that have disappeared into seams, but it's not a competition piece. I ended up taking the centre square out of the green piece as I didn't like the pattern placement, this bit has a slightly more centred white bit, I know it won't notice on the made up quilt, but I couldn't cope with it as the centre of my 2nd block!
These are all the stages;
These are the ways I could have placed the squares to make up the block. I just thought it would be interesting to see how the different arrangements looked, the centre green piece here is the original that upset me.
This is the first block as it's supposed to be
This is the naughty version with switched colours as I didn't want 2 blocks exactly the same
It doesn't show up well here, but the tiny blue dots on the yellow fabric are blue boobies, so sweet. I tried to get them all the right way up but didn't manage it on all pieces. Not enough experience yet to see where the pieces will go on the final piece of work.

Re: Garden Grove Quilt
I'm not happy with the centre squares' little squares, I might redo that and see if I can get them more square, but I might not LOL time....

Re: Garden Grove Quilt
Can see the difference, especially on the bottom one - the pieces line up much better.

Re: Garden Grove Quilt
Ooer the thingmy's gone all fancified for uploading!
Anyway, block 2 the blue is how it should be an the other is my choice, I had to change the green fabric as I miscut some of it, but try as I might I put some of the pieces upside down so I'm afraid some of my boobies are the wrong way up! The ones in the centre are ok!

Re: Garden Grove Quilt
LOL Lynda, no this is just the 2nd, you do 2 'the same' each time, only I decided I didn't want 2 the same. Thankfully my brain kicked in a little and rather than do a different block of my own making I've just changed the colours slightly using the same pattern, there are 4 more months then there is patterned sashing to ad before making it up then quilting and binding it. I'm fantasising about having it done by the end of the summer hols, the last fabric for the blocks comes end June/beginning of July.
Thanks Ruth.
